Who need friends....when we have internet?

Who need friends when we have internet? Or better, when we have internet friends, who needs a physical one......

Unless, of course you lived all alone or with your pet cat or dog. Besides that, i guess your time will definitely be well-filled with all human-related activities such as going to work; which will account roughly nine to 10 hours per day including driving back home( well unless you're one unproductive guy who doesn't know how to managed the given eight hours per day for work by going around carrying your empty coffee cup to blabber or catching up with the latest gossip from one room to another in the department). The remaining time would be segregated to some bonding time with the family and perhaps catching up with the news and reading.

Or perhaps, you just a housewife, with all those loads of house chores and cooking and running all around the house doing literally almost the same thing as yesterday. The remaining hours shall be donated to your kids and little or nothing at all for your own self. You will definitely find time to launch the internet when the kids are not at your back.

And perhaps for the luckier ones; the lady of leisure-- who'd wake up after 8am having coffee and orange juice and a slice of toast waiting for you and later just get going to the family lounge for an hour Pilate or running on the treadmill while watching some interesting soap or news. And perhaps finishing some paperwork for your NGO work and going thru documents for some companies that you're an appointed director. That will take up till lunch and when the kids comes home, as a good mother, you'd be mingling with them besides going thru some school work and entertaining their whims and fancies.

With all sort of lifestyles, time had been too constrained for most people thus making time to spend mingling and touching base with families and friends became shorter and shorter and to the extend of non-existence at all.

That is where, social networking platform such as twitter, facebook, Yahoo Messenger and other internet based communication take place...

And i believe, keeping in touch with people via the internet (besides occasional text messaging) is much easier too....one thing for sure-- you don't have to hassle yourself putting on some presentable outfit, or a lipstick. You can just sit at one corner of your lounge with your lappy and start punching the keyboard and have a conversation, while running to the kitchen to fix another cup of coffee, or munch some snacks and have a conversation with more than two person at one go. Viola!

Isn't it interesting at all?

Yes to people who know how to appreciate 24hrs in life, and No to people who'd find it more exhilarating, real bonding, blood-trenching, bodily exciting to have to meet with other people (besides during office hours, of course) every 48hrs of their life.

My being intolerant towards the ever flourishing pretentiousness and talking rots might be my only reason to having championed internet-based communication. Having to deal with many type of character and individuals with certain unlikeable habits, it is much better to keep relationship via the internet. Maybe some would look at the way i think as a total self-centred person, or some whom would labeled people with similar character as snobbish -- but having to deal with unpolished and close-minded character can be a tad bit too much for me honestly.....Not when life is catching up and hair is turning gray.

Perhaps due to being a person who don't really like people per se, and keeping in contact with only those selected few -- i have enjoyed being with myself, and still is to date- hopefully till i die. I have been loving almost everything about myself despite my little flaws here and there, and experience how the product of being strong mentally, cultivated since a tender age, will definitely have some benefits later in life. Of course reality-check should never be secondary unless you want to walk out of the house with a full blown-out head and be irritatingly opinionated -- Internet based communication would be my means of communication with friends and families.

I had been in contact with my girlfriend whom i had not been meeting for the past 14 years. Yes, to some point there aren't any conversation or interaction at all, but exchanging emails both informative and comedic once a while, is fine enough for us and we can still chat like we were fourteen years back .

Currently doing some research and reading on internet communication -- the effect of it to individual, society and it's blackspot, I'm hoping to get where I'm aiming for via this world wide web.

Happy internet-ing!

Pope, Blog and Christianity

For God's sake, blog!, pope tells priests
By Philip Pullella

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - For God's sake, blog! Pope Benedict told priests on Saturday, saying they must learn to use new forms of communication to spread the gospel message.

In his message for the Roman Catholic Church's World Day of Communications, the pope, who is 82 and known not to love computers or the internet, acknowledged priests must make the most of the "rich menu of options" offered by new technology.

"Priests are thus challenged to proclaim the Gospel by employing the latest generation of audiovisual resources -- images, videos, animated features, blogs, websites -- which, alongside traditional means, can open up broad new vistas for dialogue, evangelization and catechesis," he said.

Priests, he said, had to respond to the challenge of "today's cultural shifts" if they wanted to reach young people.

But Benedict warned priests not to strive to become stars of new media. "Priests present in the world of digital communications should be less notable for their media savvy than for their priestly heart," he said.

After decades of being wary of new media, the Vatican has decided to dive in head first.

Last year, a new Vatican website, www.pope2you.net, went live, offering one application called "The pope meets you on Facebook", and another allowing the faithful to see the pope's speeches and messages on their iPhones or iPods.

Benedict still writes most of his speeches by hand in German and it is younger aides who manage his forays into cyberspace.

The Vatican got egg on its face last year when the pope admitted that, if the Church had surfed the web more, it might have known that a traditionalist bishop whose excommunication was lifted had for years been a Holocaust denier.

Why not?

Dr M: I'm not anti-Christian

Dr M: I'm not anti-Christian

"The former prime minister said there were groups of people who thought that he was trying to stir anti-Christian sentiments by commenting on the attack at this point of time.

“What do I gain from a publicity stunt? I’m not going to run for Prime Minister again.”

Earlier in his blog Mahathir said that he had watched a three-hour video showing the attack and suggested that the World Trade Centre and surrounding buildings collapsed due to controlled demolition. "......

Hmmmm.... i wonder how these 'groups of people' came to the verdict at all.
Haven't they watched or read about loads of allegations by even US citizens or other Christians about the same matter.
Does that make them anti-Christian too, when they are actually a believer?

blogspot....

I wonder when this para spacing problem will be looked into by those people at blogspot...it's irritatingly annoying having to write in paragraph but appears non-para at all.

Monotonous.

Ordinary people

I think i wanna get a bit emotional.

Im just wondering...how would ordinary people feel about having more than two homes. Im stressing the word ordinary people here because, ordinary people can't be flying back and forth thousands of kilometres every three months or so (which is what i WISHED i can do REALLY!), and especially with kiddo and all forever increasing flight surcharges. Ordinary people are not bounded by not leaving the country more than six months a year to avoid being slapped with certain fine or some other regulations. Ordinary people couldn't care much forking money for frequent flights, lets say minimum 4 times year।

So, im just an ordinary people and having my home in my birth country and another in the country where Malaysian call 'cari makan' place.

Im back to this little oil rich land....and still after couple of years, i just can't get to feel happy returning to this deserted land where i cant do much with what i want to do actually.

I guess having more than two homes or three for that matter wouldn't be so stressful ;if im not just an ordinary people, AND the homes are located one at my birth country, one by a quiet lake somewhere in Canada, and one in New York......

That would be nice.

So for the time being, i just have to accept my ordinary life, and pray hard i could win the half yearly QR10Million bank draw, or the monthly QR1million win....of course besides all the luxury cars for grab offered by some hyper market (read me : not international chain such as Carrefour).

Well, that isn't ordinarily conducted elsewhere in the world isn't it?

KONTROVERSI KEGUNAAAN KALIMAH "ALLAH"

KONTROVERSI KEGUNAAAN KALIMAH "ALLAH"

A very sensitive issue brought forward by insensitive lots.

Whilst, the word Allah itself is in Arabic means God, but because in a country such as Malaysia, where the majority Muslim are the Malay, whom mother tongue aren't Arabic, thus making the usage of the word Allah is a no-no to other religion except Islam and the Muslims.

Having to experience going to synagogue and old churches in Egypt, and witnessed the usage of Arabic words such as Allah at the wall or entrance, and having seen covered-head old women who look just like another Muslims, it has become an eye-opener and acceptance that we human do share certain things in life despite believing in different faiths.

And having to watch a religious channel via cable tv here, and a little later realise that it is infact a biblical sermon, one would thought it is an Islamic channel because of the typical Arabic thobe and shimagh worn by the men.

Nevertheless, the real reason behind the fight of this publication to use the word Allah only God Almighty will know.
