What have them at facebook done?....
Today I came across another news on the death of some people in the US.
They have created newborn killers, less passionate marriages because husband and wife will be talking less with each another and spending more time 'conversing' and communicating with friends on facebook.
Instead of mending kids and spending time after work, especially when both are working, they'll chuck their children in the hands of their maid and off they'll visit their friends pages and are more interested in knowing statuses and checking photos and whatnots than bonding with the family.

Just like how hand phone and PSP had taken over young children and teenagers.
Urggh...I so so despise looking at boys walking with their eyes on that play gadget.

While on this, I remember a story about one husband allegedly having that 'women's man' personality (or if that's what he believes), when he was caught having a gallavant time at the office party and taking pictures with pretty young colleagues in the range where weak and low-esteemed wife would call it a BAD thing to do.

He was tagged and the wife's friend saw the photos and you know what happened next.

Of course that was before those brilliant monsters at facebook alter and add some features considering 'privacy' is primary in this boundless world.

Just like chat room, it created rooms for cheating hearts, besides the actual rooms to chat. It all depends on the individual.

Nonetheless, not all a bad isn't it Mr Zuckerberg? ....There are some good to it too.

For example. A person like me. Whom had been jailed in this non-towering house and country.

I don't communicate with others except my 5 year old and 8 months daughters, and SO.

Besides that, maybe I'll be communicating with the Indian cashiers and helpers at the nearest mini market. If I ever bumped into some people I might know or those from the same country, I'll offer my 'hi how are you' bla..bla..bla..a bit and that's about it.

Indeed I will find facebook quite good in terms of allowing me to communicate with others besides the three souls at home. And you'll be surprised I communicated more with those in my home country and those who actually live here.!!

God.

How ironic would that be?

Facebook "defriending" led to double murder, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn (Reuters) - A Tennessee couple who "defriended" a woman on Facebook were murdered in their home by the jilted woman's father and another man, police said on Thursday.

"It's the worst thing I've ever seen," Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece said, adding he had never seen anything like it in his 27 years in law enforcement in the area. "We've had murders, but nothing like this. This is just senseless."

He said Billy Clay Payne, Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth were killed last month after they deleted Jenelle Potter, the daughter of one of the suspects, from their "friends" list. Both were shot in the head and the man had his throat cut.

The couple's 8-month-old baby was in the mother's arms, unharmed, when the bodies were found.

Marvin Enoch "Buddy" Potter Jr., 60, and Jamie Lynn Curd, 38, were each charged on Wednesday in Mountain City in northeastern Tennessee with two counts of first-degree murder. The men were arrested on Tuesday.

The case was not the first involving violence linked to Facebook. Last year in Iowa, a woman was arrested on accusations of setting fire to a friend's garage after she was defriended on the social network site, local media reported.

In Texas, a man was accused of hitting his wife after she failed to "like" a Facebook post he wrote about the anniversary of his mother's death, according to media reports.

In the Tennessee case, Reece said a couple of harassment cases had been filed against Jenelle Potter in court over "someone blocking her or taking her off."

"Once you've crossed her, you've crossed her father too," Reece said, adding that Jenelle Potter, in her late 20s or early 30s, stays home with her parents and was constantly on Facebook.

Her father, "Buddy" Potter, will return to court next week for a bond hearing after he hires an attorney. Curd, also a second cousin of one of the victims, was appointed an attorney and bond was set at $750,000 for each murder count. His preliminary hearing will be in March.

No charges have been filed against Jenelle Potter, the sheriff said. She could not reached for comment.

Curd's attorney, R.O. Smith, an assistant public defender, said it was "safe to say there's more to it than the Facebook problem, it appears."

"I wish I could provide more of what went on, but there's needless to say a lot of rumors swirling around and nothing substantiated on the rumors," Smith said. -- Reuters

No wonder some Islamic ulama dictates that facebook is haram (no joke, I've read it somewhere).
It can lead to some becoming insane, and this case is one of them known.
There might be lot more out there, not to the extend of quelling, but maybe in form of minor or major harassment, identity copying ( know one), obsession with certain person and some other mentally ill actions.

If 'unfriending' can make someone be killed, I wonder how many time I have died before...and will be in the future.
Unlike some people who just enjoy having hundreds and hundreds of 'friends' on their friend list (which I dare say they only get connected frequently with a handful of them). To me there's nothing wrong with you unfriending someone on facebook, of course loads of people might not share the same ideas.
It's too rude they'll say.
Just let it be, they'll say.
But hey, everyone need to conduct reality check every once a while and conduct a spring cleaning.
My spring cleaning however, will cover all from the household items to personal things and that includes cyber whom I assumed just send in friend request for the sake of having their number up and for the fun poking nose on whats going on with the other person's life without ever wanting to communicate whatnot's.

So, why want to be sour when you've been 'unfriended' on facebook?

Money is honey.
When you need it, you'll do everything for it...

That's what happened here in Doha, a small city I love to believe a pot of gold where every tom, dick and harry from India, the Philipines, the Brits and other countries hoards to happily, not until you dig too deep inside.

With disgust I read in the local newspaper here when several students were being held for hours after their parents failed to pay their schooling fees.
Yup, in this country, if you're an expat, you'll need to fork out chunks of money to pay for schooling fees. I do not know about the Arabic schools though.

It was rather new to me when I first arrived here because back in Malaysia we only pay chunks when we send our kiddos to international school (the real ones or the wannabes) and other mushrooming private school which carries the education syllabus but have other extra subjects or maybe offer an excellent way of teaching for that extra ummphh here and there ( or as how the principle or owners market it).

Coming back to the local scene, which happened 'quite' normally now it seems, the private school detained those unfortunate children (for their parents wrongdoings I'd say) for about six hours in a room in the school allegedly without food or drinks and also being barred even to go to the toilet.
They were forced to stay inside the room throughout the school hours – from 7am to 1pm.
According to a newspaper report, a watchman was being allocated there to ensure that they didn'tgo out of the room. Well, doesn't that sounds cruel?

One lady says she came to know about the incident when her daughter came back from the school weeping. When she was informed of the incidents and they are not allowed to attend school until they pay the arrears.
To me both also at fault here.
The parents. I'm sure they were given ample time and reminder and still stubborn to pay.
The Director. If you don't have enough cash-flow to be in the business and afraid you can't pay your staff, you can either check the parents financial status before admitting the children or maybe impose an interest for every late pay day?....No?

The basic fundamental of education and medical service had been altered to the max....duuhhhh.

Groups promoting LGBT lifestyle and free sex among students.

IRRESPONSIBLE groups are promoting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) lifestyle and free-sex festivals to school students in the Klang Valley and Selangor, reported Utusan Malaysia.
Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM), a non-governmental organisation, has revealed that these groups provide free alcohol and drugs at their free-sex parties and encourage participants to swap sex partners.

This was based on information provided by the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) of several schools.

President Azwanddin Hamzah organised a meeting with 10 PTAs on Sunday to establish a committee to handle LGBT issues in the area.

The committee will work to raise awareness among parents of school-going children in the Klang Valley and Selangor of the dangers of LGBT activities.

Since being brought up and went through primary and secondary years in a mix races environment, it won't be too much if I consider my exposure to other cultures and their belief are better off compare to say...those who hailed from places where there'd be too concentrated with only certain race.

Now let me give two separate scenario on what I meant by lack exposure or interaction with other races.
Of course besides being oblivious the adaptation of the ever so favourite 'i don't care much' is the reason behind one person knowing and one not.
First scenario would be when one Malaysian doesn't know that a chicken needed to be slaughtered properly in accordance to the Islamic way for her Muslim friend to consumed, instead of offering the cooked chicken by saying it's halal. It's a chicken (and not pork).
Second example would be a Malaysian doesn't know that the Chinese people will be celebrating their Lunar New Year although their belief is Christianity. Chinese New Year (CNY) is a cultural celebration instead of religious one per se. And that the Buddist celebrate Wesak.

Halt.
Usual of me to divert.
What actually moved me to pin my thought on races and celebrations was basically the CNY which is just around the corner. And listening to songs via the web playing modern and evergreen CNY songs, I was rather bemused today when one song to the beat of children's 'Are you Sleeping Brother John' came to air.

At that instance my thought just wondered why on earth do they (both composers, song writers and radio stations) need spoil the whole thing especially the unforgiving evergreen remix!
Do they want to get the younger generations to listen to it? Or to give some old songs a twist. Either one I still think it's killing the whole meaning to those kind of songs.

I wonder where have all the lovely songs which Im accustomed to hearing when the celebration is around the corner since small? Why can't the DJ play them more?
And why do these composers need to use the children song and turn it into their CNY song?
Are they crazy or it's just me unable to accept certain 'modernasitation'?

You see, this doesn't just happen to the Chinese songs, the market will also be flooded with newer artiste singing songs of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri when it comes to the eid fitr celebration.
I loathed those kind of songs and mind you I have heard one that being done in a Rock genre. Whatmore the hip ho!.
Don't they feel silly at all?
Better still when they wear the traditional Malay baju Melayu hip hopping singing the Hari Raya song?

I don't have to wonder why the latter generations are lack sensitivity, lack finesse and slacking in almost anything they should be cherishing such as the yesteryears.
I think in a long run, when such sentiment being slowly inculcate, younger generations will be one that slacking affection towards the past things such as history, situation and people or those things that came earlier than them.
Won't be surprised when they grow up they will be dense in learning and appreciating the past but only want to know about now and future.

We are what we do.

BBC News - Air Asia X ends European and Indian flights

Malaysia's budget airline Air Asia has said it will end flights to Europe
and India because of high fuel prices and weak demand.
The carrier's cheap
long-haul associate airline, Air Asia X, will instead focus on new routes and
expanding in its core markets of Australia and East Asia.
Air Asia will end
its flights to India in February and stop flying to London and Paris after the
end of March.

Looks like Not Everyone Can Fly now, especially to Malaysian favourite city London and Paris.

The somehow not so shocking news (because in my opinion the price they offered are way too low for a long haul flights) the largest budget carrier in the region decided to end flights to the European sector after the first quarter of the year.

Hopefully 2012 will not see more sectors being eliminated by the carrier.

Having less than 24 months serving Paris after Air Asia launched it's maiden flight and putting hope of flying to the love city of the world, hoards of Malaysians who had been jubilant must feel heartbroken but on the other hand making it's 'competitor' Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) the national carrier a happier lot.

I remember having read many friends post in facebook on their holidays to Paris and that include my cousin and the family.

The decision to end those route was mainly due to it's costs and the sluggish economy.

Besides Paris and London other route that will be halted is Mumbai.

Chua: Accept political reality that Chinese-based party cannot form govt.
KLUANG: The Chinese must accept the political reality that any Chinese-based political party would not be able to form a government in this country, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
Instead, they must cooperate with Malay-based political parties, he said.

"Look at Pakatan Rakyat. It is obvious that PAS is going to be the dominant party. We must understand that PAS' political agenda is to implement Islamic and hudud laws in this country,” he told reporters after attending the 65th anniversary dinner of Kluang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry here Saturday.

Chua said the two-party system propagated by DAP would thus become a "two-race system".

"If all Chinese support opposition, there would be a loss in representation in the Government," he said.

The Chinese outside the government and the Malays in the government, this will be unhealthy and bad for integration and social cohesion,” he said.

On another matter, Dr Chua said the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia had showed a good sign by moving one step further.

"We are happy with the improving relationship between the two countries and it means lot to the Johoreans," he said.
"It would bring more development to Iskandar Malaysia, which would lead to more economic and job opportunities for Malaysians," he said.

Dr Chua suggested that Malaysia and Singapore conduct joint promotions focussing on tourism attractions in both countries.

"Singapore has its concrete jungle while we have natural jungles in Johor. It will be good if the two countries package these two types of tourism products together," he said.

How can a country which was fought by the Malays from being conquered by the British, invaded by the communist, encroached by the fierce Japanese army and not forgetting The Portuguese whom were led by Vasco de Gama trying to take control of Malacca.

The Malays are fine and good enough not shooing off but accepting the great great grandparents of the Indians and Chinese. Yup....no denying. We need them in both the plantations and mining during those time, and when the latter who are more shrewed and smart in business started taking control of the financial aspect of the economy.

So, lets just stay there.

It is true what Chua said "iinstead, they must cooperate with Malay-based political parties"....and I say -- like it or not :)

It has been quite sometime I refrained myself from reading or knowing or even chat with my mom about the local (Malaysia) political news.
Personally there had been too much of the 'kipas bontot' the vulgar way of saying it, or buttering up the Prime Minister Najib and to add on to the loathsomeness was the endless coverage of the wife Rosmah is way too much. Almost behaving like she is the Prime Minister herself, I mean, hey, I ought to blab on this yet again -- the only wife of a premier that gave a message for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (in Malaysia, the premier will issue a eid mubarak message yearly ever since Im small ) of last year.
I cannot recall any wife of a Prime Minister of Malaysia has never done that before.
She was seated next to him when he delivered the message (I was back home during the eid) as normal but later, some programme were interrupted and there was she seating at the same settee and delivering her own message!!
I was stunned and it was so unbelievable.
She said nothing much really but basically touching on similar thing the hubby mentioned earlier.
But why?....
Why do you Rosmah, need and must give your own speech?
What your hubby gave is not good enough for you?
Or perhaps you drafted the speech yourself and probably proofreading your hubby's speech is not satisfying?

Gosh.
I can go on talking about that lady and her achievement in stealing the limelight from the husband so very evidently and so very shamelessly.
Well, maybe I'm ignorant and maybe I do not know that there might be some other country's primeirs' wife gave such message to their people.

Okay, let's leave that alone.
Just can't help it after reading an online 'newspaper' tittled -- Sodomy II to ‘test’ Malaysia’s zeal to democracy and rule of law, says Washington Post; and the writer (of the online newspaper), claimed that Washington Post as the most read newspaper in the US, also condemned Barrack Obama for not putting a firm stand on the what's happening to Anwar Ibrahim, who will receive his verdict today.

Hence below are some of the things that caught my short span attention and my shorter time to review and digest any comment due to lack of time etecetra.

1. Anwar, 64, who has been charged with sodomising a driver Azizan Abu Bakar, convicted by the High Court and jailed sometime in 2000. And an eight year itch returned (is it eight years already..? please self count ) the defector leader of one opposition party was once again caught indulging himself in the forbidden desire as claimed and reported to the mass by one Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, his 27-year-old former personal aide (psssttt...~~ this is the chap who claimed he freshened up before the whole thing took place...dang!) and will be facing up to 20 years in jail and whipping if convicted.
His supporters and lovers will be praying hard for his acquittal today.
We will see...

2. On the other hand, the police came out with one rather humorous statement on tomorrow's biggie. They say they will not compromise on the conditions to bar the organisers of the rally from carrying banners or shouting for the release of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
See, this is where all those pokey Americans will seek opportunity to condemned the Malaysian government and accused the latter of not being democratic including failing to gave Anwar and his supporters justice and failure to allow freedom of press (there's no denial on this unfortunately) and of being a dictatorial country.
I don't take side and never like the idea of it. But by doing so, it clearly shows that there isn't any freedom even if the group apply the licence to organise the quiet demo to manifest their supports.

What is so wrong with them chanting for the release of Anwar?
To add on to it, almost every person knows that the conditions the police gave are those that so very lopsided and leave them with no room of manifesting their emotion at all.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said if the organisers do not agree to the 10 conditions set to hold the rally, the police are willing to meet them again before it is held to discuss further.
It's a joke....

3. Meanwhile, with the GE coming so very soon, and before I forgot, touching on the coming GE although it hasn't been confirm yet -- I strongly feel that Anwar will be acquitted of his sodomy charges this time. I dare bet my finger Najib and his gang are so very afraid of losing big time in the GE. Hence why we will be reading so many news about 'katak lompat' (jumping frogs) hoping from one party to another.
Be it either they are paid to do it so they did it out of realisation. It's politics. And it's dirty.
One of current news was PAS (the Islamic-based political party) state executive councillor Datuk Dr Hasan Ali has been sacked from the party immediately.
In a brief statement, its president Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision was reached based on a provision in the party's constitution but I guess it was more due to his the former recent public criticism of PAS policies.
And especially when his statement which sounded rather contemplating (on behalf of PAS) on last year raid at one church near Petaling Jaya where few Muslims were caught after being caught being involved in the dinner gathering cum prayers.

We shall be reading more interesting and sometimes silly news out of Malaysia political scenes until the General Election.

The Churches in Malaysia recently took the bold stand and told Malaysia prime minister Najib Razak to respect the law and remove all anti-Christian rules and policies.

The leader of one local group representing over 90 per cent of churches in the country told Najib to remove rules and policies that have seen Malaysian Christians being the victim of bureaucracy and regulations. In a strongly-worded statement or 'kurang ajar' as some UMNO hardcore would put it, the Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) asked the premier to check the growing systematic religious attacks against Christians nationwide over the past one year.

The head of the CFM also told Najib to act and stop the attempts to “murder” and “destroy” his commitment and legacy to religious moderation he is championing...hmmm....that is quite strong no doubt. And I wonder what Rosmah's reaction to this statement.

He also had been urged to set up a non-Muslim religious affairs ministry to safeguard and protect the interests and rights of not only Christians but Buddhists, Sikhs, Taoists and Hindus in hoping there'd be maximum consultation in respect of the structure and operations of the ministry.

They are asking a lot here in my opinion.
I wonder again, what is not enough with what the government had been giving them all the while with churches, temples mushrooming here and there.
Maybe this is just an attempt of them seeking opportunity to grab Najib's attention because -- yes, again -- the General Election which is just around the corner.
And they are so sure that Najib and his government will have to fulfill the needs and wants of almost everyone and every parties in order to garner vote in order to stay on leading the prosperous country.

Without hesitations the statement also mentioned that Christian leaders were not naïve enough to assume their religious issues would be solved without the commitment and collaboration of all other ministries and organs of government pressing on the taboo matter yet again -- to lift the government ban against Christians using the word “Allah” to also refer to their god.

They are smart enough to seek this opportunity and claimed to be victimised that Christians were now resorting to raising their issues publicly because it was the most effective way for the government to take action.

In what I would say laced with hints of political sentiments the church leader also said that there is a very wide and alarming disconnect between what Najib wanted to see materialised to what is actually happening on the ground.

And amazingly all these were being said after they had lunch meeting together.
The ministry also came out with their own statement later promising 'full engagement and consultation' on Christian issues starting with the mission schools, Bible knowledge education and tax-exemption status for the creed’s organisations in what is seen as an attempt to repair relations with churches.

Bon mot Christians! ....and as usual...I'm still wondering what more do they want.

snowy funeral of leader Kim Jong-Il because his son and successor chose to

Daily NK, a Seoul-based
online newspaper run by defectors, said it had received information from a
Pyongyang source about the "level of stage-management" for the December 28
ceremony.
It said local officials had told residents the day before the
massive ceremony that Kim's son and heir "Comrade Kim Jong-Un will also be
escorting the General's hearse bare-handed" and hatless.
Temperatures in
Pyongyang on the day of the funeral fell as low as minus nine Celsius (15
Fahrenheit), according to South Korea's weather service.
The paper said
civilians were ordered not to wear hats, gloves or scarves even if it was
snowing. They were reportedly warned that "behind every line there will be
people watching".
Video footage of the event showed virtually no one in the
vast crowd that lined the route wearing hats or gloves, even though snow was
falling. Some were seen blowing on their hands to warm them.
Students were
ordered to keep watch on the behaviour of the crowds, the Daily NK said.
The
funeral was followed by an equally massive memorial service on December 29,

Since Qatar's emergence on the world map especially after winning the bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2022, and organising numerous sporting championships, this sovereign state had also been receiving some unfavorable hard news such as one that comes from the chief of Israel's spy agency Mossad who had warned the United States that the small country poses "a real problem," in a US diplomatic cable (as published by WikiLeaks), and the news gets even juicier.

The Taliban had announced opening their first political overseas office, possibly in Qatar, would be one to look out for.

Let's think about it.
If they, the Taliban, really serious on their intentions -- that would be something that I find very confusing...rather bewildering.

Those who are familiar with the GCC knows that Qatar 'hosted' a US army base and had once received bomb threat.
I wonder what will happen if the Taliban set up their office here...
Nope. I'm not being judgemental nor pin pointing that the Taliban are a flock of people who would bomb themselves or other people, but it's between 'is it for real' and funny kind of cogitation.

Whatever it is, and no matter how it will be, I'm pretty sure the Emir would want the best for his country and the challenges to put a sovereignty to the one that is known worldwide, such as Dubai -- is not easy task and they've got to brave any stormy weather in order to gain something.

WHO warns of lab-produced bird flu virus

GENEVA: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has issued an alert, warning that studies undertaken by several institutions which generate mutations of the H5N1 influenza virus could pose possible risks to public health, China's Xinhua news agency reported.

According to media reports, a research team from the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, created mutations of the virus that enabled it to be transmissible between ferrets, which indicates the virus can also be transmissible among human beings while retaining its lethal effect.

Similar studies were reportedly carried out by a joint research team from the University of Wisconsin in the United States and the University of Tokyo in Japan.

WHO says it was "deeply concerned" about the potential negative consequences over such laboratory tests.

What more can we say to this kind of news?
Even without this, it has been suspected that some of the viruses emerging more frequently these past decades must have been some jobs of pharmaceuticals companies to gain exorbitant revenues and big fat paychecks for the shareholders.

Just like how my dad always complaining about the short-lived bulbs every time he changes it. When I found it too repetitive, my only statement answering to his complains was the bulb manufacturer will 'close-shop' if they gonna produce very good quality bulbs for the consumer because then, there'll be less demand, there'd be less manufacturing, when there's less manufacturing, obviously there'd be less everything, right up to cutting working hours and it's a domino affect after all.
Basically, it's a nice world to lived in but inhabitat by people who over the centuries turned to cruel monsters. It's a jungle as they put it.

So, what more can we say about this.
The virus, like it or not can be spread among humans. They know of the fact even while doing the testing.
Do they care about the repercussion? Nope, I don't think so.
It's all about proving something and gaining even more.

I remember how shocked I was as a teenager laid eyes on one woman breastfeeding her child in a bus and thought what a revolting sight that was.
It is utterly embarrassing and immodest thing to do in public.

Now, after becoming a mom myself, I still find nursing in public (my definition of public is people other than your husband and small children) quite not an OK thing to do. No matter how you want to put it. No matter how you want to sell the idea that breastfeeding is a natural thing to do and mother should be au-natural doing it.
It's 'humanly'.
It's mom and baby rights.
Whatever.
Maybe it's just me and some who shared the same outlook on public breastfeeding.

No matter how these American moms tries to 'persuade' the public into accepting public breastfeeding, I still think, and believe a lot of people share the same sentiment with me that public breastfeeding is just not OK at all.
It's like going back to being uncivilized and seriously lack sophistication.
To me personally, it's like, 'Oh, I'm a mom, and I can start unbuttoning my shirt in public to showcase my breastfeeding time because breast milk is so filled with goodness and I refuse to hide away from the fact'....wouldn't it be so?

No. I've got nothing against people who breastfeed. Really.
I'm a mom to a 6 month old myself.
I breastfeed my child but the difference is I must do discreetly. Even when my mom or sisters are around.
I'll do it in a room.
It is just so not proper to nurse in public no matter how one tries to hide it by wearing nursing-wear.

Then again...the choice is yours and sophistication is how one looks at it.

It has been quite a while I have not visited Chedet's weblog.
Today, and since I've been attacked by my own representation of 'writer's block' and time was on my side, I decided to web-surf his and few more others just to touch base especially with the local political and social whatnots.

Chedet's Dec 13th webpost grabbed my attention.
The word takut @ afraid.
The word that my mom once told me, can harbour good and bad -- that was after my action of crumpling and throwing in front of a policeman the summon he gave me during my racing for meeting years. Long story short, all I asked from him was what had I done wrong and he didn't answer me!
Perhaps that word 'takut' wasn't in my vocab at all and I was so desperately late for my meeting with some affiliates -- I said what I wanted to say ( also part of believing too much in 'my rights as a citizen')....of course, he got crossed, I got in my car and sped off, he jumped on his motorbike and halted me and issued another summon without saying a thing and although I didn't signed the summon he stuck it on my windscreen and went away -- very angrily obviously.

See, that incident show how the 'takut' should be in existence sometimes.
When I rationalised the whole situation some times later, my action can actually caused me some uncalled for circumstances...like some 'paybacks' from that quarters, as some of us know it actually happens.

I remember years later reading about one lawyer who managed to get away from being prosecuted after he called one policeman 'bodoh' (stupid), whilst a girl, the following year or so, who might want to try her luck calling names at one policeman was being apprehended for three or six months.

Of course coming back to Chedet's story -- another interesting point he made out was the relationship of Malaysian politicians with their special 'consultants', which to my knowledge has been going on for ever...will it stop? I don't think so....The Malays, Indians and Chinese...all the same.

So basically, having no fear at all is not good.
Having feeling afraid unnecessarily also not good.
Having fear we gonna lose our possession will make us paranoiac. But having no fear of God Almighty and believing in another power or sources is not good and considered shirk in Islam.

As Chedet mentioned, we should not be afraid to face the truth. And one should never seek help from soothsayers, regardless of whether they were true or false. False soothsayers are liars who pretend things to attract people's awe, money, or both. True soothsayers rely on jinns and the devil, and apply procedures containing kufr to produce their spells. Thus all of their spells, including ruqa, are prohibited, and any Muslim who seeks their help are condemned.

As indicated in the Qur’an, (the magicians can never be successful) (Taha 20:69), nor (can they benefit anyone) (al-Baqarah 2:102). Because of all of this, and from the rule established earlier that Allah did not make our cure in anything that He prohibited, we clearly conclude that it is not permissible at all to seek a ruqyah from a such people.

Family guilty of Belgian honour killing

A Belgian court has sentenced four members of a Pakistani family to prison for the "honour killing" of their law student daughter and sister.

After pronouncing the family members guilty for the shooting death of Sadia Sheikh in October 2007, the jury sentenced father Tarik Mahmood Sheikh to 25 years behind bars, mother Zahida Parveen Sariya to 20 years, brother Mudusar to 15 and sister Sariya to five years.

Lawyers for the family said on Monday brother Mudusar, who confessed to pulling the trigger on the three bullets that killed his sister, was handed a lesser jail term than his parents as they were considered to have ordered the girl's death.

Prosecutors had asked for a life sentence for all three, and between 20 and 30 years behind bars for Sariya.
Sadia Sheikh, who defied the family by living with a Belgian and refusing an arranged marriage, was shot dead when aged 20 on October 22, 2007.

Mudusar admitted before the jury of five women and seven men to killing his sister while saying the rest of the family were not to blame.

Her parents and sister stood accused of aiding and abetting the killing which took place when the student visited her family in the hopes of patching up their quarrel.

Questioned during Belgium's first "honour killing" trial in southwestern Mons, Mudusar said the killing was premeditated "for a long time".

The trial also involved rights groups pleading for gender equality as part of a civil suit at the hearings.

Sadia Sheikh left the family home to study after her shopkeeper parents tried to arrange a marriage with a cousin living in Pakistan she had never met.

Before moving in with a Belgian man her age named Jean, she was helped by fellow students and teachers and also spent some time in a centre for victims of domestic violence, where she drew up a will as she felt threatened.

She had nonetheless agreed to visit the family in hopes of making peace the day she was shot.

The father, mother and sister, also facing charges of "attempting to arrange a marriage", denied involvement in the murder, saying Mudusar killed his sister in a fit of rage.-- AFP

It's a pity when this happened to one girl who all she wanted just a tiny freedom of having her future set for herself.
No doubt arranged marriage happened still, in this modern world, especially amongst the Arabian nations where family linked, or family name is very crucial in determining who would you be ending up your life with. One is not encouraged to marry another from unknown family root.
Family name mostly, will indicate from which clan and who was the ancestor back to the period of early Islamic realisation.

But in this case, as known, and through my own observation, as I can see lots of them here, Pakistani are an obedient lot.
They are very easily outraged -- if one notice from the constant bombing and fighting among themselves. Life to them seems so cheap and have no value at all.

It's also a shame if some, I'm sure, will blame the religion for such cruel act of honour killing.

Hopefully more Pakistani girls will have the gut to follow their own path rather than those being set upon them.

A COFFEESHOP operator in Kota Baru, Kelantan, was fined RM250 after one of her Muslim workers wore a short-sleeve T-shirt to work.

All the major dailies Sin Chew Daily, China Press and Nanyang Siang Pau reported that an enforcement officer said to be from the Kota Baru Municipal Council issued the summons during a raid on Monday.

The officer claimed the female worker had exposed her arms and failed to conform to the dress code.
Apparently, the council by-law requires workers at business premises to wear the hijab (Islamic head scarf) and tutup aurat (cover parts of the body that should not be exposed according to Islamic belief).

Operator Loo Siew Lian said she explained to the officer that the worker had yet to put on her long “driving” gloves.

“I was surprised that the summons was issued.”

She added that all female workers would roll up their sleeves and remove their gloves while washing plates and doing kitchen work.
“However, they then put on long gloves while taking orders or serving food.

“The officer should be more considerate since my worker is a first-time offender. A warning should suffice,” she said.

A Kota Baru municipal councillor said he would try to resolve the issue.

“Our intention is to remind Muslim workers to abide by the dress code by-laws,” he said.

The last I saw at the Pantai Cahaya Bulan also known as Pantai Cinta Berahi located in Kota Baharu Kelantan was mostly tudung-clad young ladies wearing not just short sleeves, but nearly no sleeves at all.

So rather than this enforcement officer bothering business premises especially when it has to do with cooking and kitchen cleaning, why not do your trip to the beach or the mall and summon those people who aren't wearing proper muslim attire?

They are more exposed to the public....no?

Kelantan government just doesn't know what they actually want...really.

All work and no play

According to a global survey that polled some 12,000 business people in 85 countries, Malaysians are not only clocking more hours at work but bringing their office load back home as well.

About 47% of Malaysian workers take tasks home to finish more than three times a week, compared to 43% globally; 15% regularly work more than 11 hours a day, compared with 10% globally.

Me and SO were laughing at how exactly true this is.
They even bring along that attitude here. For good or bad of it.
And you know -- the 'I got more work, so I'm important...you go home early, you must have held some unimportant position.'
Oh come on....I was once an employee too before set sailing in business world.

I want to share this. Many years back, there was this guy who were introduced by a friend, whom had taken a bold step out of working life into business world.
The thing that came to our bemusement was his working attitude.
He will be staying back in the office until late to do some work.
When we asked him, the need of him to stay after 5pm when his staff already went back, he just said that he can't do work when there's people around!...Isn't that funny?
According to him when there's people around, he will be disturbed by this and that, can't focus et cetera.

Now, I'm not saying that Malaysian are all like that.
But, if everyone is given the same amount of working time in a day, why do you need to stay back after office hours?
Unless you are the sort of employee who'd walk around with your coffee mug talking about whatnots (the men) and gossiping and complaining about kids (the women), taking more than twice ciggie break although you got all the time you need during lunch break, surfing the net, and the ultimate thing would be YOU are unable and failed to manage your time precisely.

If you got loads of work to do -- you can opt to skip lunch, come in early...and stop entertaining drop-bys by unwanted people who just want to talk non-related issues.

But, in Malaysia, I'm guessing it's again the show-offs thing, especially in Chinese 'conquered' offices (no offense you chinos), and about having a D-head as a boss -- he or she(worst still) doesn't care whether you do your work or just heating up the chairs, the boss just want to see you there after 5 or 5.30pm....it's gonna be worst if you gonna have spinsters as the boss.

Okay, on a serious note.
Let's admit it.
Malaysian household.
75% maybe 80% are taking home double income. Mom and dad goes to work.
Maid at home becoming temp mom for the kiddos-- so, do you really think they'd give a compulsory must do to themselves to make it home right after office hour? That is probably one of the reason they don't mind sitting back in the office and chit chatting or make use of the office equipments such as xerox-ing their school kids works or pamphlets for their direct selling part time work.

Not saying those who stayed back are a slacker during official office hours.
There are people who really got things to finish up due to certain tight dateline. But it wont happen every day ain't it?

So, the best first thing to do is Prioritise.
Stop talking rots or gossiping when boss not watching. Let go of the desperate need to talk to someone. You can keep your 'kedai kopi' talk after office hours or during lunch break.
Make use of every hour precisely.

Do it for a week and see.

To those who got a D-head as a boss, talk to them nicely and explain why you shouldn't be staying back and what amount of electricity would be put to waste if you stayed back.

Bosses are human (unless they're not)...talk to them and they'll love you more if you become transparent with them.

As a smart girl, she must have smell something fishy behind this award giving reception.

Georges Lemaître has once put it "caring and curing cannot be separated."....but that is not the case here.

See, I had, since my arrival several year ago notice that the healthcare giver and facilities here is far behind from what I can get in my home country. Not claiming that Malaysia is offering the best medical support whatsoever, but I am proud to say that they do have reputable specialist and well trained experienced doctors and hospitals that offer better equipments compare to here.

I remember when my eldest was 9 month old and we brought her to one paediatrician for common fever and flu due to change of weather. The specialist -- he owns the clinic so he must have personally claimed that -- didn't even put a finger on the my daughter's body instead asked me to hold her and carry on with normal stethoscope checks. And thats about it.

Isn't doctors works with their eyes and hands to feel the patient especially a paediatrician.
Not relying on bloody stethoscope alone.
My eldest late pediatrician back home, Dr Foo of SJMC Malaysia, who was also a pead for my now sixteen years old nephew was the best I had ever met. He was very very gentle, touches and held babies like one fragile expensive porcelain. That -- you won't ever never get it here in this country and region -- I dare say so.

Now coming back to the story I want sharee.
It was about my recent visit to the 'be-more-sick' medical centre in the vicinity.
Once again, my anger button was being pushed (or perhaps I pushed it off myself, how ever you want to put it..) after the visit to have my 5 year old prescribed for some flu/cough medicine because it has been over a week and my home remedy does not show any indication or improvement.
Im not a doctor person and I believe in healing oneself first for 3 days, if not working then the doc will come into the picture.

I brought along my little one because she also in the verge of being attacked by the virus (contracted by my pre-school due to some dumb parents who allowed their kids to attend school although they're coughing their lungs out and greeny slimy things running out of their nostrils). Shhuusshhhh......

For a start, I never give much hope once I saw the name of doctors on duty.
One idiot is a doctor from one country famous for producing doctors due to its cheap schooling fees, who had 4 years ago told me that my current 5 years old is malnourished because her size is smaller than her actual age.
Obviously I was taken aback and quickly interject (before he started to say other nonsense) "What do you mean malnourished?"....then he told me, for nearly 3 years old of age-- my daughter should be bigger in size and weighted more than she was.
For readers information; in this place, before one get to see the doctor, one need to take weight and body temperature, and information collected will be linked to the respective doctors' computer.
Thus when I told him of her actual age (which was wrongly input in the system) and weight, he gave a stupid chuckled. He didn't even look or inspect my daughter but looking at the PC and I was screaming inside my lung wanting to tell him 'hey asshole -- it's my daughter who is sick...not the freakin computer!!.

Certainly he had been blacklisted from my list of doctors here. So it's the other doctor, whom I had never seen before. He is from of the Arabs countries.

After waiting for a while, of course according to numbering ques, which I don't see any movement or anyone waiting in front of his room, my husband decided to ask the reception counter, and after checking that the door is locked.
There you goes...in my heart I said. Another prick.

We were told to wait for a while (maybe the idiot is taking a dump)...but after 10 minutes, we asked again, and after checking again, the young lady at the counter told us the doctor is actually at the other side (strictly women area).
I was surprised....since when men are allowed at that area....but come to think about it, in this country rules are just what's written on the board. That's about it.

We went to the room, saw him chit chatting with someone. He saw us but ignored and we assumed he is attending a patient although I know it is not a sick person because it doesn't sound like doctor-patient talk.

We let it be, 5 minutes, went in front of the door again, hoping to be call in or maybe he'd notice and stop his blabbering with that guy. It didn't work.

My thirst for an absolute sarcastic verbal expression became more intense....I felt like going to the reception and ask since when this bloody medical centre employed a psychiatrist?
But, hey, because they are so stupid, I don't even think they'd know whether the remarks supposed to be sarcasm or a statement or a question. Some or maybe most of them can't differentiate it.

Nevertheless, I intentionally made myself heard by several staff there, and walked off, and immediately the lady at the counter asked whether we want to see another doctor ( a lady from Pakistan who is also a quack) and I said I'm not going to and it's a waste of time coming to the medical centre.

How can I not have raging hatred with the people in the medical centre here. When I went to have my scanning done during my first trimester late last year, I was asked to drink lots of water, and during the scanning this dumb Filipino nurse kept on asking me to stop breathing and pushing hard my tummy with the scanning equipment searching for the foetus! Ever heard of that way of scanning ? Not me.
Maybe she was actually a lavatory worker who had her resume done!

It's shitty...it's bastardy and it's freakin bad.
If you gonna get sick, it should not be in this country. They'll want to see your bloody purge if you got stomach ache before even checking you!
Imagine hw on bloody earth you wanna collect your purging dump? In a bowl and carry it around the hospital to the lab?
It's a wonder why no one is waiting to see that senile should-be-retired doctor, rather they wait in line for the other idiot who had once GOOGLED a symptom of sickness of one young Malaysian girl (she passed away months ago due to Leukaemia). The parent told of the first time encounter when she was brought over to the medical centre for a check up after fainting at the school couple of years ago.

I seriously think these idiots either bought their MD or just plain low grade asshole being employed to served those who don't care much about health.

Last week, Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg as well as the company’s COO Sheryl Sandberg sat down with PBS broadcast journalist Charlie Rose. The interview aired earlier this week and contains many juicy details on a variety of topics.
One of the subject matters discussed was collecting data on users, which Facebook is frequently accused of. Zuckerberg explained how Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft are much worse at the practice than his company is:

Mark Zuckerberg: I mean, when you’re saying that we’re the light, it’s because, sure people have a lot of information on Facebook. But that’s information that they’ve put into the service.

Sheryl Sandberg: Exactly.

Mark Zuckerberg: If you look at companies, whether it’s Google or Yahoo or Microsoft, right, that have search engines and ad networks, they also have a huge amount of information about you. It’s just that they’re collecting that about you behind your back, really. And it’s like you’re going — you’re going around the Web, and they have cookies, and they’re collecting this huge amount of information about who you are. But you never know that. And I mean, some of these companies make an effort to give you a product where –

Charlie Rose: But do you find that a bit scary?

Mark Zuckerberg: Well, I just - I think it’s — it’s just less transparent –

And, I don’t know, I think that some of those companies have made an effort to give people to give a payage that they can go see all information that the company has about them. But, I mean, very few people are actually going to go do that. So in reality I think that these companies with big ad networks are basically getting away with collecting huge amounts of information, likely way more information than people are sharing on Facebook about themselves. But I think because people can see how much information people are sharing about themselves on Facebook –

Sheryl Sandberg: Yes.

Mark Zuckerberg: it appears scarier. But in reality, you have control over every single thing that you’ve shared on Facebook.

Zuckerberg is walking a fine line here. Criticizing Google is nothing new: the two companies are constantly at each other’s throats. The same cannot be said, however, for Yahoo and Microsoft.

Yahoo is more and more heavily relying on Facebook and has changed from downplaying the social network to leveraging it. Microsoft has a small stake in Facebook, and the two regularly work together. I’m not sure it’s wise to talk down these two, especially when the point is to explain why Facebook is superior.

Woman murders husband, then tries to cook his body parts.

Pakistani police on Thursday arrested a woman who had killed her husband and was attempting to cook his body parts after he planned to marry another woman without her permission.The police arrested Zainab Bibi, 32, and her nephew Zaheer, 22, in the Shah Faisal colony of Pakistan's southern megacity Karachi, and recovered the bowl of flesh she planned to cook, saidpolice chief for the area Nadeem Baig.

"They killed Ahmed Abbas, Zainab's husband, and chopped his body into pieces and were about to cook the flesh in a
bowl," he told AFP, adding that the knife with which they killed the man had been recovered.Television networks showed gruesome footage of the human flesh in a bowl ready for the stove.A neighbour had alerted the police and investigations were ongoing, said Baig.

"There could be two factors behind her intention to cook the husband. One is to destroy the evidence and the other could be her immense hatred against him," over his plan to marry another woman, he said.According to family law in the Islamic country, a man has to get permission from his first wife before his second marriage, but the law is rarely observed.--AFP

Today, I received yet another unfortunate news of my maternal uncle passing.
It was good instinct that I managed to squeezed some time to visit him with the thought of introducing my newborn to him vice versa (although the lil one don't know anything yet) snapping some photos of both of them for remembrance purposes.

Living abroad and far from family is the reason my being a little more sensitive about family relationship. Age also must be the second big reason of we human being feeling such -- compare to our younger years.

In reflecting back circumstances, I realise at this age juncture, such news will come by quite often...besides news of newborns...and later in ten fifteen years to come invitation to friends' daughter or son wedding.
And cycle of life goes on again for the new one.

May Allah be with Cik Ain -- the person whom I learned and still keep certain cooking recipes and whom I had spent my secondary years whenever we balik kampung for Eid watching him bakes cakes and cook.

It will never come again in our lifetime.
The date 11.11.11.

While there are hundred of thousands of couples tying nuptial to commemorate this date and parents to be chose the date for delivery via C-sec, and considering 'lucky' those to be born naturally on this date, there'd also be those who leave us behind upon the calling of their creator.

As for yours truly the date means nothing but just another day and date.
But today it became a date.
To commemorate a couple of things besides the eid celebration, me and SO decided to do some thanks giving by inviting friends among the small Malaysian community here. It was supposed to be two days earlier but due to other commitment, we chose after Friday prayer to have it at our house.

Among those invited was someone who happened to be the first guest to arrive and later to our shocking disbelivement was informed that he had passed away while playing hockey less than four hours after attending our fête.

God surely has it written.
All of what happen in our life today and everyday.
Of my intention wanting to do something such as that, where it is something very uncommon of me (the first I did one was nearly five years ago after arriving here).
And of the coincidental day chosen.
Of the person who had decided to attend although we weren't that close, of him and the family being the first to show and we have individual time to mingle at least, and everything that comes after that.

To his family and especially his beloved wife, please take all this with strong heart and will.
We were born, and we will go -- one day definetely.
It must be very painful being left at this point of time where the children still needs their father love and attention, but the Almighty knows best and will surely arranged the best for those being left on this earth.

To me, this yet another news that made me recite the greatness of Allah (swt).
He made us alive and in any second, minute or hours he can take us back...sometimes with no indication at all.
How He had give me the health and opportunity to wake up every morning and watching my children grow and celebrating life as a family; I honestly hope I will be given His guidance and be allowed to follow the righteous way. Insyallah.

Have been defending LGBT (damn, i didn't know they have acronym for this abnormal sexual-preferences lot) for over 20 years already.
And I don't know why the next statement 'In fact, I defend the rights of all who have been discriminated against, the poor and everyone else' -- why? Afraid that people going to misjudge you? Or maybe you just want to make known that you're such a love and a lady who is filled with so much empathy that you also feel for those poor whatnots.

One question...Why I have never read or heard about you fighting for the poor if that's what you claimed?
Why never read about you joining those pickets related to the needy? Instead I read more of you fighting about Muslim wanna denounce their religion, and endless accomplice along the so-called liberated Islamic NGO; SIS.
Now, you're big on gay lesbian community.

Lets face the truth and please don't pretend by putting up the facade trying to imply you're such an open minded person. Whatever and however you wanna put it -- Being lesbian, gay and bisexual is still wrong and abnormal.

The AG report, not knowing what exactly their intentions -- whether to being honestly transparent or just doing their job accordingly and instructed by the top to report the truth so that the people can never accuse the government not being truthful -- has been, to my knowledge successful in reporting about overspending and overly paid contracts here and there.

Thing is -- the citizen should be able to see something is being done -- and not just reporting about all these extravagant spending without the involved parties getting reprimand or answerable for their injurious actions.

Thus why, I'd like think that the overspending and whatnots will still being cooked by them and their accomplice and the shitty rotten reports are being fed to people year in and year out.

You see, this lady who is also a relative of mine, had in my opinion took the most dangerous attempt in getting to be known whatnot.

See, I personally was dead shock when reading her post on facebook late tonight.
She, who had been living abroad almost all her life might look at things differently...perhaps the way the 'American' look at things, unlike others. As we all know it.

I read the thread of comments covering the news and not surprise at all reading comments from people who rejoice and support her 'battle'.
I, for one, do not understand what sort of battle she's taking and championing, and also risking, except getting damn by hardcore Islamist, and the 'un-American' brain.

And I have asked on her facebook, where in the Quran that she interpreted that Allah is A-okay with homosexuality? Or could that be just a gimmick to get news coverage?

I reserve my further comments, which, will be longer than the news itself and let you people decide whether the modern Muslim now, knows better the meaning and interpretation of the holy Quran then those elders during time after Muhammad our prophet.

Thus, to all gay and lesbian couples out there, wanna get married and be blessed? Ani would be the pope to do so....

I watched with much bewilderment of Hillary Clinton's casual statement while laughing when asked to comment on the death of Muaamar Gaddafi.
Even the TV newscaster when asking one of US official to comment her rather inappropriate behaviour --- refused to give any comment and say that matter shouldn't be elaborated.

It's easy when you laugh at one life, being brought to this world -- be it they turn out to be holy or monstrous -- they are human after all. All human and every individual walking on this earth have been written on them of their birth and death, besides on their life overall.

Yes of course we can't blame God for creating a mean person like him and many more,but that's what they chose to be. Im sure their mothers did not want to give birth to someone who'd one day become an icon for genocide such as Hitler for instance.

But laughing at the death of someone even your country's enemy, is seriously inappropriate and a very distasteful action.

see Islamic Criminal Law set up back in 1996, during his 50th birthday

I saw his speech and thought that he is really serious on implementing the Islamic Criminal law in his country.
I'm not too sure what covers criminal law actually.
Would drinking alcohol be considered criminal or would an unmarried couple found in close proximity, be considered as criminal too. It is against Islamic law no doubt, but would it be considered criminal?

Of course as a person who lack knowledge on Islamic law, I for one cannot comment or elaborate much on this issue, but only want to say that I'm sure there is some reason besides being a real Islamic sovereignty behind his urge to implement this law in the Brunei.
But what tickles me was the fact that, if, lets just say the Islamic law was implemented, and obviously those commoners follow the rules and regulations abiding any law stipulated -- what happen to his own royalty, with, so many and known to be having lavish parties and whatnots going on behind the palace's close doors?

Slanderous? Nope I don't think so.
It happens even behind the close doors of Arabs royalties....but who dare to reprimand them?
On witnesses, as required by the law....who would want to be a witness when everyone was to being fed to enjoy the extravagant enjoyment?

The Sultan also said that once Islamic Criminal Law was established, there won’t be any problems between that court and civil court, but how sure can it be.

Nonetheless, as he said it Allah (SWT) will help those people who have intention implementing His law and I'm sure it will be materialised sooner or later.

See, I for one is not a phone person.
Unlike some people whether needing it or simply must have it because it's the 'in' thing or simply a gadget freak -- their mobile must be changed regularly and it has to be at least the top three selling model or brand....wait, not forgetting showing off too...(mind you I had a personal experience from someone who deliberately took out her iPhone just to show off the new gadget while asking me to see some picture on it ....hahahaha)

Anyway, my understanding and usage of a mobile phone was to strictly receive and make calls.
That's it.
No emails viewing or replying, no games playing, or not even browsing social network such as facebook and updating my whereabouts every hour like celebrity.

Anyway, as expected, the news of people lining up to grab the latest phone by Apple is not a news really.
Come on....how can it be one when it is so easily expected?
Personally, I thought it was merely too much of a hyped up situation made possible by those marketing people at Apple themselves.
Who knows that maybe those idiots who'd sleep over inf front of the store and lining up for hours are those that have been paid so to boost sales?.....Who knows....
I remember the last line up was for iPad 1.
I'm not too sure whether people lined up the way it was for iPad 2.

Okay....I was eager too, to grab the iPad previously, but lining up to get it? Nope.
It's okay to have it late a week or so, nothing to lose....unless there is some fine white line of showing off, attitude among people.
One of the easy access was of course by what else if it wasn't for facebook's 'sharing and showing' . Don't you all agree?
Nothing wrong lawfully, just an attempt at winning some social impact.Who knows....

Think about it....it was like some sort of an arrangement that items produced by Apple will always be a hot selling cake and people willing to line up for hours for it.

Now, should I be feeling relief because the state that Im currently residing is not on the list.
I remember one doctor's advice on being too much in the open air here because of the polluted air.

NAJRAN: About five percent of the married Saudi women regularly beat their husbands, according to a study conducted by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Muqbil, a staff member of Al-Qassim University who is also a social and a family consultant.

He told local daily Al-Madinah on Friday that 45 percent of the Saudi children were subjected to various kinds of physical abuse and that 21 percent of them were being regularly beaten.

The academician noted that incidence of family violence was steadily rising and said verbal abuse might be the spark that ignites family violence. “Many people confuse between firmness and violence on numerous occasions. This may result in family breakdown and will not ensure children a proper upbringing,” he cautioned.

Al-Muqbil also said negligence was another face of family violence. He cited a case of a girl who had been staying in a protection home for more than 10 years without anyone asking about her. “This is a clear example of family abuse,” he said.

The academician refuted claims that family violence was hereditary and said it was a kind of temporary punishment. “A female accepting to marry randomly without knowing the man just out of fear of spinsterhood is also a case of family abuse,” he said.

Al-Muqbil believes that the prevailing culture in society is encouraging family violence. “Some wives bear physical abuse by their husband for fear of divorce which is more painful to them than physical abuse and beating,” he said.

He cited lack of proper family planning, unwillingness to settle petty differences, disputes over methods of upbringing and boredom in the house as factors that would ultimately lead to family violence.

“Differences over birth control are also among the causes that may breed family abuse,” he said.

In an earlier report carried by Arab News, the Jeddah police had reported that on average, 145 wives beat their husbands in a month, constituting 20 percent of the annual rates of such incidents.

Wives only go for physical violence when they reach a state of explosion and can no longer control themselves, said Fathiyyah Al-Qurashi, member of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, while responding to the growing number of incidence of husband beating.

I mean, lets start from just looking at Arabs men.
Majority of them have a hard, composed, rather stuck-up façade. Most ot them are tall...hardly you'll find those average Asian men height.

Would they like, hiding their face with both hands from being slapped or hit, just like what you'll see when you watched some movies about abused women-- now...that will be interesting ain't it. Anyway, let me dwell on it for today, besides trying again to picture the scene of the household villainies with their actions.
On a woman perspective -- personally, I think it is absurd. We do have quarrels and some misunderstanding, but both verbal and physical abuse on women and men alike is a NO-NO. It is a show of disrespectful towards the individuals.
It is against the religion, in this case, these Saudis I would assumed all of them are Muslims.

Salam....a word usually used to begin, say, an email from one Muslim to the other.
But what I'm about to write about salam today is focusing on the way the Malays greet each another besides saying 'Apa khabar' or how are you, both party will held their hands out and it will be accepted by the other party. Just like the international greeting of a handshake.

Now, I'm not about to explain the ritual of Malay greeting procedures whatnot, but my intention focus more on how the younger generations greet their elderly now. Perhaps my 'concern' on the way they greet are especially evident during the Eid celebration where visitations was one of the must do thing.

See, from my vivid memory, I recall how my parents would asked us to salam our aunts and uncles or their friends. And we were thought to hand out both our hands to them and kiss their hands.
That is the beauty of greetings according to the Malay tradiotional culture.
I realised handing out both hands has long been ignored by the younger generations and I'm finding kids and teenagers nowadays just shoved their right hand bring it up to the forehead instead; when what we used to do those time, was to take both hands and kiss it in show of respect.

Thus, it must be correct if I state that the younger generations are lack respect to their elders now, is it not?
Or does that means the parents (which is my generation) wanting so hard to be so-called modern and wanting to simplify matters which might be too petty to some.

Let's put it this way.
First and foremost, I'm not someone who is protocol or 'adat' die-hard person.
But what I dont understand is why can't the children be thought the beautiful way of greeting, the one that we can call our own....really.
I mean, the way that the youngsters way of doing it now is exactly how the Filipino youngsters greet their elders.

Are we on the brink of losing the way our great grandfathers beautiful and respectful tradition?
Just like the children nowadays has lost the respect or perhaps not being thought to bend down a bit of their body when walking in front of their elders.

Perhaps one day the Malays will lose all of their good values and traditional cultures due wanting to adapt a more modern and westernised lifestyle...just like my neighbour who casually asked her fisteen years old daughter to go upstairs with her boyfriend when we were invited to their open house....oooppsss.

Whatever it is.....hopefully I'll be able to continue this tradition and know that my children will know how to show respect to their elders.

Baby...baby...

Hmmmm....this might be something different from my normal people bashing or whatnots log.
Im blaming it on the hormones...nothing else to blame. Why not? Im still being controlled by the up and downs of it. And one of the reason of my claiming so was when now and then Im finding myself very preoccupied with my little baby, unlike my previous one...
Well, not wanting to feel 'mom's-guilt' or whatever, it was probably, it was different during the previous birth, where I was busy running business and trying to cope and 'make-beleive' being a 'modern day' mom by bringging my baby to the office whenever I'm free from any meetings. Another reason for that was my not trusting a maid or baby sitter besides close my family members.

Anyway, since Im a house mom, and got all the time just to entertain my baby and watched her every second, Im experiencing a very new feeling of being a mom to a newborn.

I have the following article sucscribed from a website, and I just feel like sharing it here.
It made me lauged especially reading the last checklist, and picturing her rounded face and eyes eyeing for our food whenever she sees us eating.

How will I know when my baby's ready?

Your baby will give you clear signs when he's ready to move beyond liquid-only nourishment. Cues to look for include:

•Head control. Your baby needs to be able to keep his head in a steady, upright position.

•Losing the "extrusion reflex." To keep solid food in his mouth and then swallow it, your baby needs to stop using his tongue to push food out of his mouth.

•Sitting well when supported. Even if he's not quite ready for a highchair, your baby needs to be able to sit upright to swallow well.

•Chewing motions. Your baby's mouth and tongue develop in sync with his digestive system. To start solids, he should be able to move food to the back of his mouth and swallow. As he learns to swallow efficiently, you may notice less drooling – though if your baby's teething, you might still see a lot of drool.

•Significant weight gain. Most babies are ready to eat solids when they've doubled their birth weight (or weigh about 15 pounds) and are at least 4 months old.

•Growing appetite. He seems hungry – even with eight to ten feedings of breast milk or formula a day.

9/11 -- A decade ago

9/11.
Must be the most memorable and most used numbers.

Time must have cheated on me.
I felt ancient.
I felt I must do something before I realised another decade gone just like that.
It seems too fast.
I felt it was just a couple of years ago that I was seated on my tv room chair in my office watching CNN from morning and continue till I reached home and it goes on for the next week or so.
The conversation during that time was bombing and WTC and militants.

Well, in order for me to commemorate the D-day, I prefer not touch on anything about the bombings or those who perished including those jihad-crazy people.
I'm doing it on a smaller scale.
On myself.
I want to reflect back on the past ten years ago of my life.
A lot had taken place.
Achievements, happiness, sadness, joy and solemness.

Gosh.....a lot.

I wonder whether the next 10 years, US will still give respect and visit the ground Zero -- I reckon they've got a new name for the area already.

We shall see....

PETALING JAYA: About 20 pet owners filed police reports on Tuesday against Petknode Online Petstore accusing it of alleged cheating and breach of trust.

They filed the reports at the Police Headquarters here Tuesday evening.

This comes two days after about 300 cats were rescued after they were allegedly starved in a locked “pet hotel” where their owners had left them to be cared for over the Hari Raya holidays.

A friend involved in the rescue mentioned about the filthy and badly congested house where cats and kittens were put on stacks and being left without attention.
The two guy responsible for the abuse should be kept behind bars for their deed and shouldn't be allowed to operate the pet hotel anymore.

Eid Mubarak!!

Today is the day of celebration for all Muslims.
My being at home celebrating is a must.

I cant bring myself celebrating it here, after the first and last experience celebrating it here without family and friends. They do have a community at the place where Im residing now, but somehow there is no point of if the community is slacking in genuine devotion and are of pretentious. I mean, basically, they are those that you 'don't actually know and don't wish to know'.

Anyway, when it comes to 'don't actually know and don't wish to know' -- I have got this urging feeling of really wanting to know who is actually the Prime Minister of my home country, Malaysia.

You see, every year, it is a ritual for someone to announce the day of the Eid, after the sighting of the moon commemorating the celebration, This will be announced right after the night prayer.

Then on the first day, there will be special speech by the Prime Minister.
I cannot recall, the current premier, Najib Razak's way of giving speech pass years but this year, he gave his speech while sitting down on a couch beside his wife Rosmah.
But that was not the gist of the story.
I was later utterly shocked when Rosmah gave her own speech...which was carried on air for the next couple of days!!
I mean, who IS the Prime Minister?

Has it been done before in the history of Malaysia? Nope.

Has it been done in other country's history? I do not think so.

So why is she stealing the lime light?
Why is she been allowed to do that?

Could it be possible that the rumours that she is the actual PRIMIER is true?....

By the look of it -- YUP indeed.

With news about her whatnot being carried on air daily, there is no doubt she is the actual premier.
Indeed her long patience 'hard-work' is being paid off now.

I totally understand that fasting month can be a little bit hard for those who ought to do outside job such as construction workers, those whose job required them to visit project sites, and those who will be on the road dispatching documents or goods.

But what I encounter today is what I can call deteriorating customer service or perhaps wrongly employed person or maybe the person with wrong job.
Why do I say wrong job?

Well, it started with just a simple call from this delivery guy from his office (land line number appeared on my cell) asking me direction to my parents' place in Shah Alam.
I have ordered cupcakes to be delivered home for my daughter's final day at her playschool in Taipan Subang Jaya near here because my daily schedule is very tight, and not wanting to rush on the day itself, I opted to pay extra to save me some time and hassle.

See, I really don't mind people calling and asking for direction to my place, and had never given more than once..okay maybe twice( when they came nearer to the area and wanting to reconfirm) and they arrived with no problem at all.
But when direction was given as detailed as possible, and again for another 4 to 5 times with him calling while riding his motorbike added on with loud noise, laced with rudeness in the voice asking 'where actually is my place' -- it definetely can make anyone goes thinking, do I pay extra for delivery for you to bother me many time asking for directions.

You see, this Malay chap (that is why earlier I mentioned about fasting month) was not asking me direction in a nice manner and intonations -- which, I understood well. Being fasting, added on with slight drizzle, and motorbiking while on the mobile -- it must be tough.
But any women disturbed from her kitchen just to give direction to someone who are dumb, it is a sure call of some conflicts. He was so rude like as if I'm the one who forced him to deliver the cupcakes from Damansara to my parents' place in Shah Alam.

Direction telling him to go ahead another half kilometre before turning right, he took an immediate junction to the left, when I told him to turn right upon reaching certain area, he go ahead and ACCUSED me of giving him wrong direction and there isn't any turning right at the place I mentioned.
If you're in my situation, what do you do or how will you answer?

Obviously, I told him to listen to my direction and stop interjecting me, and that I have been living here for umpteen years and I know where and which junction to take to the residence.

I came to the point of wanting to ask him to stop where ever he is at, and I'll take my car out to get the goods -- when I rationalised again -- I paid much extra for the delivery because it was out of 'the area' and why should I be dumb enough to kow-tow to his stupidity.

Finally after spending more money on my cell directing him to the house, he keeps on yelling at me that it's my fault and I gave him the wrong direction !! A serious rude, useless, and wrongly employed staff.
I really think he should just work at any toll booth along the higfhways in Malaysia.
For if you're lazy to use your brain, or googled the place you're going to deliver or even to go for any appointment -- I really think he is best collecting toll money -- a work suitable for the handicapped. Because he is definetely a 'brain-challenged' person.

Obviously I will not let rudeness take helm, especially when I was being accused straight to my face. I told him he is the first ever person that after being given many times direction and still can't find the place, and that he is very rude to the customer, and that even Pizza Hut people never call asking for direction!!

His answer? Get another person to deliver and that I'm a snob because I'm 'well-off' !!
What the heck he meant by that....only he knows.

My thought ? This guy is an example of pathetic, self-pity idiot who is lazy to use his brain and good customer service is unknown to him.

To this guy -- his name is Fizal, five foot seven, fair skin with wavy hair -- try to find what you like to do. If you don't like your job -- quit. And please don't feel belittled my the outlook or persona of someone you don't know.
And to Cupcakes Chic located at the Curve Damansara, I told them to reconsider hiring this rude guy. Nevertheless, maybe "I scratch your back, you scratch my back" kinda thing, I was told later by another staff that he is not under their payroll and that he has been outsourced.

Whatever.....

Push Presents....

I subscribed to the email list of this informative site and came across this rather interesting story from one of their blogger.
'Push presents' -- an interesting but the term was new to me although I have read, long time ago, that Catherine Zeta-Jones was paid a million bucks for every child that she gave birth to by her husband Michael Douglas, which I though was excessive.
And, I had once visited a friend who had just given birth and brought two present.
One for the baby and a box of premium chocolates for the mom, because I thought she should get something too.

I had even shared some thought with the husband on why women should be given a gift for each of the delivery -- at least it'll be a sort of memorabilia. Of course I didn't get anything for the first one because I was too busy trying to expect what kind of pain will I be going through, and the new life of motherhood had taken any of those things away from my head.

When I gave birth to my second child last June, I was given, or rather chose for myself a very nice necklace...a present for the delivery.

Don't' get me wrong. I'm not the gift-loving woman, but giving birth is a very exclusive and special occasion. We don't give birth yearly (although there are, but not for more than two or 3 kids). And to commemorate the event, I feel the woman should be given something as a thank you note from the husband for job well done (because there'll be harder job ahead waiting for the mom).

Honestly we are not an anniversary 'gift-giver' sort of couple but will try to get or do something for each another for birthdays (and after years of marriage, I find it more and more difficult to searching and surprising him of the what-to-get item). But 'push presents' -- I think all couple should adopt to this idea...for a show of thoughtfulness, at least.
-- I've gotten myself another 'push-present' recently -- the second one, which I hope won't be any thirds...hahaha

Besides heavy political dramas (i cant help it but to compare it during Mahathir Mohammad's era, whatever you might say about it), Malaysia is becoming another drama scene of religious silver screen.

There had been quite a significant religious-based drama (actually both in the real world and on TV as i noticed many Malay dramas about religion and many actresses now donning head scarves portraying a Muslim women in hijab, to the extend that I'm rather confuse whether they'd donned it for good or just for acting) ever since the premier after Mahathir -- Abdullah Badawi with Islam Hadhari -- which of course is way down the drain and definitely down residing at the bed of the Pacific Ocean already.

The recent hullas was about the 12 Malay men and women being apprehended at the Harapan Komuniti (Community Hope) dinner of the Damansara Utama Methodist Church in Petaling Jaya. The raid which follows with incongruous actions by the Selangor Mentri Besar, Khalid Bin something (Im not bothered to remember his bapak's name), whom after the incident, announced his apology to the Christians for the raid by the Selangor authority JAIS and would promise a report shall be in order to rectify the matter (in other words he's trying to convinced the Christians not to be angry and he will be getting a complete report on WHY Jais did that...).

That, of course ensued an automatic reaction and a protest from some Islamic-based NGOs to stage resentment toward his cowardliness by saying sorry and in a way allowing the 12 persons do what they do -- of course this Khalid had to do that in order to still stay at the seat, and to kow-tow to his party Pakatan Rakyat (PKR), which consists of all races and religion although he is really stupid. He can just make things neutral by saying an investigation will be carried out before opening his dirty mouth.
Now, he got to wash his mouth thoroughly because the protesters brought along a toilet bowl with ribbon in front of the office compound. I bet they want him to know that his mouth smells foul as the toilet bowl.

There a many Islamic realisation coming to the shore for the past decade.
Muslim ladies and teenager are seen more tudung-clad compared to during my teenage time, where we're more happy to don mini skirts and have our hair done to whatever the 80s style was.

As a personal opinion, I surely think it is good. I mean I had been lambasted for pointing out that not all tudung- clad ladies are well-behaved and pious. Some of the remarks I've gotten was ' well at least we covers our head'.....yeah, yeah....
Yeah. Of course, I wont be hanged by my hair while having river of fire under me and being punished in hell for my sins of not covering my head...BUT, at least I don't make fun of the Muslim's dress code. I don't cover my head and leave open my chest to show off my pendant, or cover my head but wearing leggings and bareback, or WORST still, wearing baby-doll gowns on top of some tight long sleeves inner, which shows so much of my bodily figure.
I mean, do YOU as a tudung-clad person, really wear your hijab as HOW you should be wearing? Loose, covers your neck right to the chin, and cover your boobies, and not forgetting wearing your head covers normally without the hump at the back of your head the Syrian style ?

Anyway, I don't want to say much about the way young and middle aged Muslim women donning what they don the recently years. Up to them. I don't give a toot.

So, coming back to Islamic realisation among the Muslims in Malaysia, which has it's good side too -- there are also some quarters who'd politicise the matter. The so-called non-halal beer becoming halal again, coffees with traces of pig gelatin, and now not halal, which I'm quite skeptical on the claim, to the crossed-like pictures among the masjid on praying mats to the extend of buns having crossed-like are being watched diligently.

The up rise awareness of all Islamic things probably due to too many Muslims converting to Christianity. One minister stated that a faith crime act be enacted as apostasy is spreading at a rapid scale.

To me those Muslims who had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, let them be...maybe some of you might think that by doing so, we are actually allowing sin of apostasy be free to roam among the Muslims, BUT let's face the truth. When one heart desire, they'll only go for what they desire.
Consultation?
In my opinion, it will only be to no avail.
Once they had willing to take money and in return sell their faith -- honestly, these are morons of MORONS.
These people should be left unattended. What would a consultation produce when deep in their heart nothing is more greater than money.

No doubt as another Muslim, we, responsible people need to act and help bring these people to the right path. However, if confirmed that they disavowed Islam, then, there ain't anything much we can do -- unless the country is practising hudud law.

There are such people that claim they are Muslims, but in actual fact they've already rejected some of the basic Islamic foundation and bow to others, and these group who will doing things against the religion are called musyrik.

The fact is, apostasy in Islam in Malaysia has been taking its ground but were made widely known past five years. It is something that, as another follower, we'd be feeling remorse of their deed, yet have to accept the fact that, it has been going on for centuries...and there's nothing much we can do about it.

Few days ago news about a raid carried out by the Selangor Islamic Department JAIS at a gathering organised by one church in Petaling Jaya created quite a controversy.
Of course, JAIS as an Islamic body has no right to enter or barred any Christians from performing any activities according to their faith. Rather their action was triggered when they received a report indicating that there was about a hundred or so Muslim people joining in the church late afternoon activities.

The action, which can trigger some religious-related bitterness is however being dealt carefully in my opinion. It is not being overblown by the media and my guess was it must be an instruction from the top.
On the other hand, the Selangor Mentri Besar, Khalid Ibrahim, who will be answerable to this matter, and who claimed that it was mere multi-racial gathering, is also appealing to the media not to 'discuss' the issue before getting any facts on the raid. He got two party to answer to ; 1- the religious head of the state; 2 - his political party PKR which champion multi racial and just for every Malaysian.

Asked me, I'd say, why, he must claim it was a multi racial dinner in order not to bruised his other party non-Muslim members -- his hands are being tied and mouth being controlled.

The issue which was not being covered much (perhaps to respect other religion and in the spirit of 1 Malaysia), must be an ultimate expose of Muslim people going into a church and joining in their activities, which was not new but not reported.

The specification of the activities was not yet known but involves singing among others.

According to the lady who was apprehended, when interviewed, claimed she had been attending such gathering following a suggestion from another Muslim friend in order to earn an allowance. She who is also a single mother said she did so due to financial difficulties and after failing to get monetary assistance from an Islamic department when approached.

She also said that she had even been assisted financially to start her own small business. When asked about her religious stand, she claimed she is still a Muslim.

Well, if you ask me, I'd say, this lady, although not knowing whether or not she had denounce Islam, her action itself is a reflection of her 'akidah' or faith in Islam. It's a show of her faith is being compromised. What more when the activities was carried out during a fasting month and they are there near to the breaking of fast -- thus making us wonder do they fast or otherwise...

Organisations financed by Christian bodies assisting individuals, or a group are not new. They are known to help those homeless, or drug addicts with temporary shelter and food. I have also heard about Muslim people mainly those who worked in factory with low paying salary or universities students having financial problems, being 'helped' financially by issuance of monthly allowance. In return they must attend the church activities, which initially does not look religious but slowly it'll turn to be one.
The only thing most people don't know is, this issue had been going on for a very long time, but this particular news got into the limelight because now these Malays turning Christians are more bold in their appearance which answered the increasing numbers of people denouncing Islam each year.

On church giving out monetary reward to single mothers and those in needs -- I honestly don't have any comment. To say it is not good -- it is good. Just like the woman interviewed said; if she can't do any work and get money, is it okay if she had just sell her body? In other words, she's saying that; it's and okay for her to join in a Christian congregations rather then selling her body for money...

My word for her -- is it that hard to find any decent work or it is just so easy to sell and buy religion? Is so hard to find decent work that no other thing can make do but being a prostitutes?
Doesn't she have family to ask help from?
Doesn't she have any other means or ways of finding a proper job with decent pay but instead selling her faith for a couple of hundred ringgit?

If seven out of 10 Muslim lives along this kind of thought, I'm guessing the percentage of Christians Malays will see a significant increase in years to come.

Perhaps in Christianity to feel the glory of God so easy. It can be bought or paid for.
So, anyone (in this case non-Christians) having monetary problems shouldn't look far. Just pay a visit to any church nearby, and a remuneration will be in order.

8TV apology fails to quell public anger.

JAYA: Local television station 8TV might have pulled out their allegedly racist
Public Service Announcements (PSA) and issued an official apology, but anger
over the issue has not dissipated. Instead, many are accusing the Media
Prima-owned station of high-handedness in the way it made the apology.

In a statement quoting Australian philosopher Karl Popper, 8TV apologised for any
inconvenience or uneasiness caused: “As the famous Austrian philosopher once
said, ‘It is impossible to speak in a way that you cannot be misunderstood’ –
and this is the unfortunate situation that has resulted from the 8TV Ramadan
PSA.”

One thing that I can conclude out of this hoo-haas is that some people are just trying to politicised and hope to make this a larger controvercial issue with undying support of overly sensitive people.
As some said, this is a petty issue, and as a matured democratic country inhabitants, a should be able to accept this matter in a very light way -- "a society which is able to laugh and poke fun at itself is a confident, open and matured society.”
Same goes to an individual.

It won't be wrong if I say that this resentment was burnt by some political party(s) in order to have an agenda to take the racist game to the road again.
And it also won't surprised me if one of this day, CNN will aired a "Ramadhan demonstration from Kuala Lumpur" depicting mostly Malay men and women with their children chanting some colour asking the government for something in order to show respect for the holy month.

Okay.
Let's look at the fact.
Especially for those of you who aren not Malaysian, who doesn't resides here and had never been to the country.
Now, this month is the holy month of the Muslim. Ramadhan, a month where Muslims will try their best to do 'the best' as a person. Very good example is, if one Muslim person is a party animal who'd flock night clubs every weekend, in this holy month, he'll become a little better by stopping his weekend nights activities and might replace it with just 'mamak' chats, or going for the terawikh prayers.

Alright, lets get to the point.
Altogether, some people are making such a big boo hoos about this matter because the advertisement depicts a “Chinese” girl eating in public added on with her tank-top when visiting a Ramadan bazaar, which is making the Muslims around her offended.

The criticism circles that the ad is stereotyping Chinese behaviour during the fasting month.

Now, lets admit it.
Chinese or not, young people has got their own way of dressing. It's an expression. It's a fashion.
Even the younger generation Malays (also born Muslim) don all type of clothing as their heart desires.
I have come across countless encounter with Muslim girls wearing tight skimpy cloths with shorts or micro mini skirts, albeit them 'supposed' to be better during the month --walking scouting for various types of food at Ramadhan bazaars.

What more can one expect out of a a non-Muslim who aren't binded by any dress code....they can wear what they like and however they like it to be.
Couple of days ago while waiting for my nephew in front of an ice- cream shop somewhere in Subang Jaya, and I can swear to God almost 99% of the Chinese girls that goes into the shop wear tiny shorts and T-shirts or spag-strap with slippers.
It's like a trademark.

So why must feel bad when one are criticised about who they're clothed?
This is what they wear.
Why wanna make it a big deal that the advert depict them wearing such?
This is what being worn by most of them either for morning breakfast, afternoon lunch or night time dinner, to market or to mall.
Day and night...well unless they go to college. I'm sure college got some sort of a dress code.

Personal experience?
During winter in the place where I live now, in the housing compound for staff.
We have people from other countries living nearby such as from the UK, the Philippines, Indonesia and other nationals.

No one would be wearing just a short and a Tee walking around in that chilly weather,...BUT this Chinese girl from an eastern coast of Malaysia, I bumped into her many times wearing short short and a Tee.
Thus, would it be my fault or anybody else's fault if we assume and conclude that this how they are dressed casually.

My Indonesian Chinese business affiliate once commented on the matter. And I simply told him the local people don't really care about how they dress.

Hence, to say that stereotyping Chinese to wear that kind of cloths and behaving as such is not all wrong. Why can't those people just accept the fact that this is how most Chinese wear.
Why they don't depict an Indian girl instead of Chinese? Think....

Because we don't see an Indian girl doing such thing.I don't want to be lopsided by saying that most Indian girls are more respectful than Chinese or Malays, in terms of public behaviour or dressing.

Second, on eating.

Well, eating in public during Ramadhan is only forbidden for the Muslims.
I don't see why should the advert be politicised to interpreted 'it seems showing the Chinese' of course not just lady but as a whole, are rude -- to be walloping food around fasting people.

Let's be realistic. They (the non-Muslims) won't be bothered to hide their food and drinks when they're around the Muslims during this month would they? This is what they do. And don't expect them or any others will do. Any Chinese can challenge me that I made up the statement (and I quote this from my Chinese friends) Chinese live to eat, not eat to live.

Last year, another tv station run by the same group triggered the Malay/Muslims people by airing a Hari Raya commercial with alleged Christmas overtones -- a sledge going up to the sky.-- Honestly to me that was a case of stupidity of all party -- the advertising company and the tv station department who is in charge of it. Sledge had nothing to do in the celebrations of both eid. If they were to make a 'ketupat' or a bamboo sticky rice 'lemang' with kids sitting on it flying happily to the sky, the people might just accept it and laughed over it.

I strongly feel that the advertising agency is trying so hard to create 1 Malaysia thingy until they become so engrossed and can't differentiate between B and D. Perhaps they need thicker specs to look clearly into what actually is 1 Malaysia all about.

Or, perhaps, the local media industry have been flocked by cheapskate, low paying advertising companies.

This racial tension was stirred up by some people who is trying to find the smallest pettiest thing to create another road demonstration.

That's it.....nothing more.

To the Malays -- stop asking the non-Muslims to respect your holy month or teach them how to behave. If they are sensitive enough, and tolerant, they wont be doing what most of them did. They'd learn about it during primary school in Civic classes. You are living in a country with mixed race and religion. Although you believe that the country is stamped internationally as a Islamic country, and one of OIC member, Malaysia is not. All are allowed, from gambling, prostitution and alcohols.

To the Chinese -- don't be sad you are depicted as such because not all, BUT majority of your younger generations are like that. This is what we see in reality.

So get on with life, and if you're unhappy, try swallowing an anti-depressant.

Ramadhan Kareem...

Today is the second day of Ramadhan.
As usual and as it has always been, the month will be flourished with all good deeds and doings and all are racing to pluck credits from God as this holy month is the special month among the months.

I cant help but recall my younger years where during this month I'll be donning a more decent and 'covered' outfit for work, especially. This is the time where the traditional baju kurung or kebayas will be out of the closet more often rather than occasional Fridays or kenduris.

During those 'neither here nor there' or probably rebellion still the main handler of my life, I too try to come to respecting the holy month in my own way. I remember one of them was my trying not to miss praying time of Dzhur and Asr by bringing along my 'telekung' (praying garment) in the car. Due to rushing for meetings here and there, driving and traffic jams in Klang Valley these two prayers can be quite hard to do. No doubt the hardest one for me to perform, unless I'm in the office.

The one incident that I will remember during the Ramadhan was my first attempt to pray at the Kuala Lumpur Masjid Jamek in Kuala Lumpur town centre. Since it was the Asr prayer time, and the traffic was building up, I decided to stop over and perform my obligations. Honestly I don't go to the masjid and I do not know that I have to cover my head to go in the masjid compound then.
After parking by the road side, I walked in to the compound. Suddenly I was taken aback by the sound of someone calling "Cik...Cik"...with a whiff of an angry tone.

Naturally, I looked around to see because there was nobody else there except me. I then noticed this man, who is a guard there walking hastily towards me in the same time telling me to go out of the masjid's compound.
Naively, I told him that I want to go and pray, instead he told me that I cant be walking in without covering my head first!

At that spur of the moment, I wanted to tell him off but managed to take control of my irritation in time before I uttered another word by just turning back and walked to the car. Knowing I don't have any scarf and wanting to just drive off, I then remember the inner head cover I have with the telekung and put it on to 'satisfy' the guard.

I know that it is required by Islam for the Muslim women to cover their hijab...no doubting it, but when I or some other Muslim women out there, who doesn't cover their head but dressed covering the whole body in a respectful ways, wanting to perform her prayers, what is so wrong about walking in the masjid without the head scarf?

Yes, it is a manner required by human to enter a masjid compound BUT does God look at it that way?

I am not a lady who covers her head, BUT I was asked to cheat on myself, and others by having to cover my head just to walk few metres to the woman's praying hall. God almighty damn well knows whats in my heart and obviously know that I don't cover my head, human are making it complicated and asking people to be pretentious. Be whom they are not....or not ready yet.

Do you think God will be smiling an extra inch because I covered my head just to walk few metres to the praying hall?
Or maybe the guard, with that cynical angry face felt I should not even come to the masjid to pray because I can't even do the simplest thing such as covering my hair? No?

But whatever people might think or whatever perceptions they might have towards me and my likes, I know we are in the category of unpretentious Muslims who just want to do what is required of us and doing it slowly, instead of those who only 'feel and making believe' that God is at the work place, or at school and masjids compound only.

Let me tell you what I did after I finish praying....
Admittedly I am quite a sarcastic person and who feels I should make the other party know my like and dislikes by either verbal or body language, I obviously can't let this 'angry' guard to go off with that cynical grin.
So while walking back to the car and still in the compound, noticing the guard was actually looking from afar, I casually took off my tiny white head cover and start finger -combing my long hair freely....HA HA HA

Transgender Aleesha dies; candlelight vigil planned for Saturday night

KUALA TERENGGANU: Mohd Ashraf Hafiz Abdul Aziz, 25, who failed to have a name change to Aleesha Farhana after undergoing a sex change operation in Thailand, has died at the intensive care unit of Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah.

Bernama reported that the patient was admitted to the hospital at 3am on Thursday after experiencing heart problems and low blood pressure and died at 5am on Saturday.

Father of the deceased Abdul Aziz Ahmad, 60, when contacted, said the family was waiting for family members and relatives to return to Kuala Terengganu and that the funeral would be held after the mid-day prayers Saturday.

Doctors at the hospital on Friday said the deceased was suffering from unstable angina with cardiogenic shock.

DUBAI - Qatar plans to use a cruise ship for accommodation when it hosts the soccer World Cup in 2022 but will need more short-term alternatives to avoid adding to an already oversupplied hotel market, analysts said on Monday.

Some 400,000 fans plus the 32 competing teams and a huge media following will descend on the tiny Gulf state in 12 years time, when it becomes the first Arab country to host the world's largest soccer competition.

"There are plans to double the supply of rooms in hotels and guest apartments by 2022 to cover the everyday requirements of an economy that is expected to continue growing strongly," the world's governing soccer body said in its official report on the evaluation of the Qatari bid.

Qatar proposes "more than 240 different properties" mostly in the four-star category but also several in the three and five-star category and a few two-star properties, it said.

Of this number, 100 are existing hotels, villages and compounds with more than 44,000 rooms, while a further 140 properties are expected to be built, including a cruise ship project in Al-Wakrah with 6,000 rooms, FIFA said.

Hotel occupancy rates in Qatar are currently fairly low, which is indicative of oversupply, analysts say.

"Qatar will have to grow its hotel supply but I would be cautious on how they will do this," said Jalil Mekouar, managing director, hotels, Middle East & Africa at Jones Lang LaSalle.

"There are already fears of oversupply of hotel rooms in Qatar and with the World Cup effect lasting two or three months only, it is important to consider what to do with this hotel supply when the event is over," he said.

Alternative solutions would be using hotel supply from neighbouring Gulf Arab countries such as Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates which are only one hour's flight away.

Temporary budget hotels that could be dismantled after the event could also be explored, he said.

Jones Lang LaSalle estimates Qatar's current room supply at 9,200 rooms and expects an aditional 2,000 rooms in 2011 and another 3,000 in 2012.

JP Grobbelaar, Colliers International director of research, estimates Qatar has around 10,000 rooms, a total which is set to rise to 17,000 by the end of 2011.

"In the World Cup in South Africa, a lot of people committed their homes to guest accommodation of they leased their homes out for the duration of the World Cup," Grobbelaar said. "But this is unlikely to happen in Qatar and if it does, it won't be on the same scale."

Hmmmm...at 30 years of age, i never even consider of getting married nor have any kids.
I wonder what this child had in her mind....whatmore the parents'?

1. Avoiding sinful life maybe?
2. Having legalised sex maybe?
3. Being exposed to sexual desires two to three years prior to this wedding maybe?

....on the lighter side, i remember reading this news from one China news agency long time ago. It was about this couple in some rural area in the northern province, who had gotten married for the past 3 years (?..or so, i cant really remember the detail).
They had been trying to have baby but failed until one day they were suggested to visit their local family-planning agency, and was later discovered that the man, all the while had been entering her fro m the back side!!

Hahahaha....see, even though this story i read, was like some 13 or fourteen years ago, but i really cant forget about it. This is one sure thing we human should take heed. Obliviousness can resulted in many many unfavourable situations.
What more can you expect out of a kid who is just 14 years of age. And the following thing that would come , being typical MALAY, they'd surely consummate their marriage ASAP, and don't be surprised she'd be expecting by first quarter of 2011.

DOHA - The chief of Israel's spy agency Mossad warned the United States that Qatar, which is to host the 2022 football World Cup, poses "a real problem," in a US diplomatic cable published by WikiLeaks on Friday.

It says Meir Dagan issued the warning in a July 12 meeting with a senior US counter-terrorism official, Francis Fragos Townsend.

Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, tries to please all parties in the Middle East, including Syria, Iran and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, to underline its independence while hosting a major US base, he said.

The result is that he is "annoying everyone," according to Dagan, who pointed to frequent fallout from damaging coverage of Arab states by Qatar's satellite news channel Al-Jazeera.

The station could even provoke the Middle East's next war because Arab leaders hold Sheikh Hamad personally responsible for the coverage, according to the Mossad chief.

"I think you (the United States) should remove your bases from there ... seriously," Dagan, who retires in December, is quoted as saying. "They have confidence only because of the US presence."

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad al-Thani, chief executive of the Qatar 2022 bid committee, told reporters in Zurich on Thursday after the World Cup announcement that his country would also host Israel if it qualifies for the finals.

The gas-rich Arab state, which does not have diplomatic ties with Israel, will respect the rules of FIFA, world football's governing body, and not discriminate against any participants in the finals, he said.

Qatar brings 2022 World Cup to Mideast.

Whilst I had the confident that Qatar won't be able to win this bid after their attempted 2016 Olympic bid launched sometime in October 2007, where me and the family join in the cheering crowds -- okay, more of to watch the fireworks at the Doha corniche, it was somehow not impossible to think that this tiny country would be able to bring back the winning of this bid.

Qatar will be the smallest host nation and the first in the Arab region to host the gigantic game of football celebrated worldwide every four years. It was the second smallest nation to host the game after Uruguay in 1930.

And yes siree....they've got the money no doubt about it!
Barrels of it and this winning will definitely gave more exposure and limelight on the country.
As an expat here, I'm expecting more developments coming in the pipeline for the next many years, which, even on the smaller scale if one observed and compare it's development to three years ago -- it is easily noticed from increased of vehicles and people in malls and verywhere.

Their estimated populations of 1.2 mil three years ago had jumped to current 1.7 million.

And of course....traffic jams.

Here are some of the facts that enable Qatar to win the bid, in my opinion;

1. The total cost of the construction and renovation is estimated at around $3 billion for new and current stadiums. They submitted a budget of $645.5 million to run the Confederations Cup in 2021 and the World Cup the following year. It projects a total number of 2,869,000 tickets will go on sale.

2. Over the next five years, the country will build a $25 billion rail network, an $11 billion new airport, a $5.5 billion new deep water seaport and a $1 billion crossing linking the new airport with mega-projects in the northern part of the capital, Doha. It will also spend an additional $20 billion on new roads.

"Budget is not a constraint," said Jamal Al-Kaabi, manager of roads and drainage at Ashgal, Qatar's Public Works Authority. (I love this statement...)

3. Although Qatar has been eager to display a liberal and welcoming image to inspectors and media during recent months, the sale of alcohol and the possibility of rowdy behaviour from World Cup fans are likely to be a significant hurdle in an Islamic country where public drunkenness is prohibited.
Bid representatives have said alcohol will be allowed in designated areas throughout the tournament.

4. Although the tournament is played during the two hottest months of the year, bid organisers said the heat would not be an issue thanks to climate-controlled, zero-carbon-emitting stadiums. (This, which I'm sure me and the family wont be around here anymore, would be very interesting to experience....their adverts in local tele mentioned innovative cooled stadiums -- WC will roughly be organised in June, the hottest month of the summer)

JEDDAH - A Saudi religious police commander criticised the kingdom's ban on gender mixing on Tuesday and said women did not have to veil their faces to applause from his female audience.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Ghamdi, outspoken head of the Mecca branch of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, also said there was nothing in Islam to prevent women from driving, despite the Saudi ban on the practice.

"There is a difference in interpretation of the (Koranic) verse... which leads some scholars to rule that the whole body must be covered ... However other scholars approve showing the face, hands and elbows. And some even okayed the hair," he said.

He said the kingdom's mixing ban should be applied only to men and women meeting in secret, not in public places -- a rule normally enforced by the religious police.

Islam "orders a woman to cover her body to allow her to participate in social life, not to prevent her from doing so," he said.
The women in the audience, all clad in the all-black shroud-like abaya they must wear, broke out in applause.

Ghamdi, who was mysteriously fired and reinstated in April after breaking ranks with the religious police to endorse mixing, was speaking at a conference on "Women's Participation in National Development", where the hot issue was the barriers posed by Saudi Arabia's ultra-strict ban on women working.

Because Saudi women are not permitted to mix with unrelated men, must have a male guardian and are not permitted to drive, there are huge limitations on their employment opportunities.

Recently, top religious officials strongly objected to a labour ministry effort to allow Saudi women to work as cashiers in supermarkets.

Labour Minister Adel Fakieh said on Tuesday that 200,000 women in the kingdom, or 44 percent of the workforce, were unemployed, and that of them 157,000 had degrees above the level of high school.

"The unemployed women are educated above high school, while unemployed men mostly don't have degrees," he said.

Meanhwile, the country's sole female minister, Deputy Education Minister Noura al-Fayez, also came in for criticism for not having achieved much in terms of women's educational advancement and opportunities.

She urged the audience of Saudi women to have patience, and told them she could do little about certain issues, like the high accident rate for rural women teachers who must travel great distances to work because they are not permitted to live away from their families.

On Monday, King Abdullah's daughter Princess Adela bint Abdullah said a greater effort was needed to provide jobs for Saudi women.

"Women's participation (in the workforce) is behind expectation. A society cannot walk with a limping leg," she said.

Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam. Sexes are segregated in
schools and public places. Women are not allowed to drive or vote.

Women not allowed to drive has got nothing to do with the religion but only an interpretation of human and Saudi's authorities.
When human are banned from doing something that other folks of the same sex around the world are allowed to do, they'll tend to break the law -- whatmore when these people are living in the millennium.

Sometimes I do not know how to feel reading this sort of news on domestic helpers being abused or quelled.
I remember reading news early this year about one Indonesian maid killed by her employer because it seems that she cast a spell on the employer's son. I guess they either found out that the son was going head over heels over her which is a definite no-no or maybe it is true that she did what she did, because knowingly, Indonesian maid are not all saint. Most of them.

I dare not comment more because even back in my homeland Malaysia, there were cases where maids were abused and even died out of torture. However the latter would be very very rare.
But when it come to this part of the globe, the percentage is much more higher.
I'm guessing, after being live and watch and had small chat with some helpers while tending children at play-area in some malls, it is in their blood. The Arabs, i mean.

It is them when it comes to being lack of respect to other people.
It is them when it comes to acting like that because they had, ever since thousands years BC been introduced to some kind of help known then as 'slavery'; where the masters own their body and soul.
And also through historical stories, we come to understand that some of these slaves will be made free after perhaps they've done something extremely worthy for the master. For an example when one black slave (this during the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w period when Battle of Uhud took place) where he was promised freedom by his lady-master Hind bint Utbah if he managed to kill Muhammad's uncle Hamza ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, and he did.

No doubt slavery existed in all races and other part of the world.
One very known people having use slaves was the American land-owners and rich people whom had their slaves shipped from Africa to do the plantations and whatnots.

But the difference between these two nations and the people are their attitude towards another human being.
And obviously, their mentality.

The use of helper is so profoundly seen and adapted in the middle east household. One can occasionally see tall able-bodied men (of course the women would definitely bring along their maid for little grocery shopping) acquire the help to carry two medium sized plastic bags from the shop to his car...while his hands are empty!
And yet some of them still failed to understand that the human that they pay to help around the house and taking care of their notorious kids are not slave -- but were mere poor ladies from another region seeking some money to be sent home to enable their poor parents and family better living, which they can't be able to find even back in their own country.

Truthfully, I empathised with them maids, although I felt this should served them right too, especially the government per se.
When it comes to threatening the neighbouring countries (usually my country) on issues such as this, although happens very rare -- but they'd make it look so horrifying bad to the extend allowing the 'freedom' by their authorities to conduct some blistering actions towards the bilateral relationship including threats on calling-back all their women working in Malaysia as maid and hoping to left Malaysia with no source of choice. If this is not enough, they'd create some other reasons just to prove a point...including burning of flags etc.

Now, I'm eager to see whether they'd dare enough to create those uncalled for scenes in front of the Saudi's or other Middle East embassies and offices or not.

It was a double bill for Indonesia.
The twin disasters which happened just hours apart was beyond any human control.
Whatmore when the world's largest archipelago is situated in one of the most seismically active regions on the planet.Living surrounding there would mean; expect the unexpected.

The eruption of Mount Merapi(or Fire Mountain) which last erupted in 1994, followed by swirl of tsunami swooping away Mentawai's island chain near Padang remote area killing at least 113 people. I think the Indonesian government must at least know how to take care of their people, especially those 'ganyang Malaysia' lots, whom had never failed creating reasons for trouble against the two country every now and then.

I'm looking forward to watch and see what is Malaysia humanitarian assistance this time.
And to watch whether the Indonesian government could at least know how to say thanks in the future should those uncalled for tension arises created by some Malaysia haters by perhaps showing it's respect for bilateral relationship by rounding up those arse. I especially cannot forget watching those protesters wiped shits on the Malaysian embassy wall and burn our flag.

Selangor searching for 'missing' RM977.7m

The Selangor State Treasury formed a Task Force Committee in May to probe why
outstanding transactions over six to seven months, totalling RM977.7 million,
could not be matched in the accounts.
This was revealed in the 2009 Auditor-General's Report on the financial statements and financial management of state government, departments and agencies.

This has affected the cash balance in the bank as it could not now be determined whether the total is moreor less than what was stated.

Up to May, adjustments totaling RM692.59 million were made.

A further RM285.11 million will be revised by the State Treasury from time to time before adjustments are made.

That's a big nearly 1bil worth.

Islamic dresscode.

This thought had been with me.

It somehow agitates me to certain extend for I really don't know why.
Maybe it had to do with respect. Respect and take pride in what we do.
Or perhaps a tinge of disgruntlement towards certain group of people- namely women in carrying and portraying themselves as Muslim ladies.

Personally, I think loads of women fell victim in order to fulfil their desperation of being in style, especially wearing head covers, which is more of a style than a must in the recent decade ~~ and are actually clowning themselves especially those women whom were forced to donned cloths that covers all aspects of the 'haram' body parts by their parents or husband, yet they are actually flaunting it but in a discreet Islamic manner.
In a skin covered attire, but body hugging and skin-tight show all manifestation.

Well, in the first place, I admit that I might not be someone anyone would call a good Muslim lady because of my uncovered head and body although I had over the years and after reaching certain age in life chose something accordingly and chucked away all my skimpy dresses and skirts.

What really triggers this thought again, now, was after reading a circular distributed by my daughter's school here on the students dresscode; this after some lack of understanding or just plain dumb parents who made their kids wear something that not suitable for school day dresscode.

One of the photo show a pinafore worn by one Muslim girl. She must be from Indonesia from her feature or if from my own country, then, too bad I might not know her due to my little boundaries I set for myself.
It made me chuckled seeing her photo wearing a pinafore which is just below her knee but she also wear a white head scarf !

What was running through her parents (particularly) the mother's head seeing the daughter wearing that?
What do they or she actually want from her wearing that?
Wear a pinafore or wear a Muslimah type of pinafore?
Then why not get her an ankle long skirt, which would definitely compliment the head cover?

This is the case of a contradicting discipline that is running thru the Muslim world nowadays. It coincide with very evident Islamic realisation among the people (in Malaysia for example, in the 80s, one can hardly find a Muslim secondary school-going girl wear head scarf unlike now, majority wear them and some school in the capital 'force' their Muslim girls to wear a tudung).
Of course there is always better to know that there are higher Islamic realisation in any soceity, but when the understanding of it was not being emphasised, then what is wrong?

The religion itself or the person who admits to the religion?

If one take time learn about other cultures and in the same time observes, it is especially evident among the Egyptian young women especially, their funny 'dress code' or attire, until one actually can point out that they are from Egypt rather than say...Morocco.
This trending of discreet-show- all attire would be shared by other Muslim majority countries except the Gulf. Don't get me wrong. I am not scrutinising or down narrowing that all of them wear as such, but mostly young adults does.
In of course, not forgetting those down around South East Asian Muslim particularly the Malay and Indonesian ladies. One can obviously differentiate the style of hijab-clad women from the other.

Why I call this contradicting discipline?
Well, in my opinion, they are trying hard to instill some 'Islamic' discipline in their young child ( mind you some Indonesian and Malay don their 1 year old girl with head scarves...which is absurd, obviously...) yet in this pitiful case, the girl was 'indirectly' taught that she is allowed to show her legs BUT must cover her head in whatever case it might be. This my friend, if not being properly adviced and taught will somehow be adapted or assimilated by her until she grows up.

What is the relevance?
What is happening to the Muslim society who thought they are implementing a righteous way according to the syariah but are actually dumb in knowing the real way of covering their head and bodies?

How many young ladies out there who covers their hijab but know about the real Islamic head covers apart from the Christians and Jewish way of covering their head?

Don't they have any sense of instilling discipline by doing it across the board according to what actually required in a proper manner.

Or if you, just like me, a liberated Muslim ~ just buy skirts and shorts and gowns for your daughters and at least they won't be living a deceiving life and and might have the consequences of not knowing it until they are adult.
This a sure case of cheating oneself.
An evident of desperation to show others that they are better covered than not.

Just like some of the women I've come to know back in Malaysia who covers their head but wear bustiers under their blazer that obviously showing off her fair-skinned chest, a pretty necklace and a bit of cleavage, or covers their head, but wear skirts without any leggings (which in the first place they are not supposed to wear such mid calf skirt), or wear head covers to work but throw it away and will be bare-headed out of working time, or wear shorts doing gardening (my neighbour) when she actually wear hijab to work!....what is the point of her covering her body at work but go doing her landscape with short shorts and I definitely can make out her 'real body figure' and 'her legs colour and size' ?
Hmmmm....and Im a woman....

People can really be damn funny and complex to me.
I always fail to understand their whys.
And don't talk about the Melayu ladies who'd wear long thick gold necklace (seen once with two extra large pendants, because she's afraid people might not know she got more than one), and one personal case a lady so desperately pull out her white gold necklace (because she claimed that she's a town person just like moi) just to prove a point.

Sucks.
So, if you have the intention of instilling religious lifestyle so you can be better and stronger faith than others, please start by donning a proper attire on yourself first, then evaluate others.

Those people from Thai for example ate insects such as fried maggots, or scorpions and water bugs. I've seen those ingenious people on the telly in some part of Borneo eating the worms/maggots from Sago tree...which, no doubt looks kinda yummy with its off-white very thick fat body. And they ate it on the rocks!

But termites?

I'm guessing with the world energy industry continuous research for some other alternatives for the world supply in the future, the food industry also don't like the feeling of being left out. Mind you, they have already started with organising a conference on insect eating for the future. To be specific they are called entomophagy and those eaters are called entomologist.

We have vegan.

It's a pity that this Pastor has a very shallow outlook on the religion.
No doubt the religion (Islam) had been labeled as a violent religion thanks to all those fanatics' favourite pastime of bombing and killing innocent people in hope to die a martyr, I'm sure this pastor's ideology is only being supported and shared among people of his likes.

And there aren't many of them worldwide.

Another amusing perception of this pastor on Islamic worshippers was, those who congregate the Kaaba 'are not a happy bunch' --and he must got it all from watching them on the television-- personally, to me this was merely a statement from a person who is in dire lack of understanding of other religion and a person who is actually emotionally tormented.

His, I'd like to put, are the same as those Islamic fanatics who'd kill others by strapping bombs on themselves and be willing to die in pieces leaving behind their family in the name of Allah swt. How stupid can one be.

Their failure in understanding the needs and wants of Islam made such.
Of course, in this pastor's case we wouldn't expect more.

He knows well that all religions and faiths teaches only good things to all the followers, but it is only the people of the religion itself that made it look bad thus received such labels from the non-follower.

And on his remark that Islam is not 'a religion of joy'....that I must agree!
We don't do singing and play band in our mosque. We stand united and prostrate in unity following the Imam and believe that one day when our true imam, i.e. Imam Mahdi will be born and Jesus@isaAlayhis Salaam will finally walk again on this earth to save the religion and their follower from further discrimination.
Only then we will be understood better by the non-followers.

I'm getting sick of reading the daily dose of young unmarried couple dumping their newly born child in dumpsters, in the river and all. And that what was found and reported. We don't really know the actual statistic.

I saw one picture, and of course this was made as the front page by one local newspaper on one newly-born baby found amongst the rubbish with his face down and the umbilical cord still circling around the neck, with the hair so lush black.
He must be a beautiful baby. And the young father and mother must be put away as a killer.

Honestly, I think the court or authorities must be crazy to let this kind of killer gets away with their actions although Suhakam (one of the local NGOs) spokesperson says that not all of such cases, the parent(s) action could be count as killing!

What if it wasn't then?
Compassion killing because they (the killer parents) has some conscience and pities the uncharted future of the child whom was born out of wedlock?

The media had been playing such news on a daily basis of course, there are good and bad of it.
The bad thing would be the show of very very bad social detriment among the people especially the certain race which I don't wanna keep on blasting, but just love to. Yup, the certain Malays! They must be a very lustful pack who can't control ejaculations. Or perhaps so euphoric the feeling of sex that they don't have enough time to put on the french cap...seeshhh....!
Perhaps they are so dumb to even think about the result of their making. What more about sins because sinful thing is always tempting.

The good thing would be parents are being made aware of the current situations thus must take heed from the news and take action on their end. Precautions such as educating their children on out of wedlock sex and its repercussions. It must be an uneasy situation and are a taboo among most people, but hey, we're developing, our young child are growing -- why wait to let them know. They'd learnt it from the net anyway!

Now, don't' tell me that I'm yea-ing sex out of wedlock. Some of the feedback I got telling me that, that would resulted in the teen being curious and wanting to try. But tell me honestly, would you know that your teens who'd just came out of puberty is on heat? Do you know that they might not go to school instead go to some one's house to 'experiment their love' and like one person told me sometime ago -- eager boiling sex soup?

Admit it.
We can't.
We can't protect them from doing what we don't want them to do and prohibiting them would only enraged their desire and rebellion.

What we need is the media to stop or reduce on the report of all these newly-born dumping news because don't be surprise if that news might on the other hand gave a wrong indication to those prospective baby-killer.
They might think that it's not hard to do. Others do it too.

The media should stop publicising (not reporting) and start educating. Have a special column in the newspaper on teenage sex and its effect both emotionally, physically and religious-wise. Teachers in school can use the column as a reference thus reduce the 'malu' (defi: shy) thing in them since we're Asians.
They can also conduct talk or educational discussions on sex -- not on a mix arrangement but private girls only and boys only. This would enable the teenagers to discuss freely without feeling shy that boys would hear their opinion or questions.

Just like Durex's advert, a small in-put on a daily basis can be very informative.

Homes becoming too costly for the average Malaysian - StarProperty.my

I wonder what is the government effort in trying to combat the obvious social gap between the people who can afford RM500 thousand house(s) to those who can't even fork out 10% of RM150 thousand for a small single storey house.
Thanks to the government, the social gap between these two groups has gone wider and is increasing each year and soon only the affordables can own houses and play their game of buying and selling their properties to gain minimum profit of 10 %. The rich will definitely be richer and poor will be a pauper in 30 years time.

Just couple of days ago I was talking about this issue while meeting a friend. While sharing the same ideas and frustration towards the government non-effort in recognising or closing one eye on the needs of the lower middle class people in this country, it is obvious that they are only too busy selling their tickets for the coming GE.

Honestly, since we are not some pretentious politicians, we don't give a shit about the shit the government is doing but they (the ruling coalition) are mere blood sucker and any smart people would know that the new generation politicians in Malaysia are just here for his/her term for a sweepstakes.
Struggling not for betterment of the people, but struggling to pool as much money as they could possibly make while in control and having their investment everywhere around the world.
I dare bet that most of them would be the first to fled the country should there be some sort of uncontrolled aggressions or political riots going on.

I believe if the current situation is being allowed to grow and taken lightly, without any measures by the government, we'll definitely see a property doomsday, more social ills and more people being dragged down to the 'Ah-long' death hole in their pursuit to stand tall with those affordables.

And this I haven't touch on the education yet.....

Today is the second day of Ramadhan, the holy month of all Muslims.
Although the feeling didn't kicked in as it used to many many years back, I hope I'd be able to get the feel of it soon. Guess I'm too seasoned and it's in my system for too long already.
Just like the Hari Raya or Eid Fitr celebration. The excitement of it only can be enjoyed while were were young kids. And I remember finding it uninteresting in my late teen years.

Excitement and it sort will eventually slipped away once we reached our mid twenties and will definitely take another turn when we have our own family and commitments. Every one of us have our own way of celebrating and for sure it won't be same as the other although similar.
I do see some people getting really perked up having done 'theme' coloured baju Raya for the whole family to the extend of buying new vehicle for balik kampung (it was made known by a friend who owns a car dealership that Hari Raya means sales will rocketed although I can't grasp the actual need for a car change to commemorate the celebration)

All I know and finding it becoming a customary is the Ramadhan Bazaars set-up in selected areas. It is more of a makan-makan festivities. You can find all type of food and deserts being sold and people queuing up for half an hour for some 'hyped-up' food such as popiah or soup.
Indeed makan-makan a favourite thing to do no matter where the race lived.

My wish to all Muslims is have a good month and hopefully all our good deeds will be blessed.

I hate being unfair although I am a tad bit too critical about almost everything revolves around my life.
I don't particularly like being unfair.
I guess it is part of my nature and most probably I am a 'true' Libran...you know, Librans supposed to be loving peace, flamboyantly natural diplomats whom would seek balances in all that they does adding with having the grace of putting others at ease...ehem *clearing throat*.
And not forgetting being artistically inclined...:)

Okay, lets not divert.
Basically I'm having this hatred about the situation that had been blanketing the country for the past I can't remember when, but I know it was much more safer when I was in my primary years.
It's about the safety of the majority people.

The freedom of walking around the park or jogging alone with nothing to fret about, carrying my handbags walking without the fears of it being snatched, having the ease of bringing kiddos to malls or park without having to constantly eagle-eyed them, living my car park in quieter place without the possibilities of it being missing from the spot and all sort of other things.

Now, I am not championing other countries, but I believe the safety of us and our family should be put as priority.
Having living elsewhere, and experiencing better security level, others like me are happily enjoying the freedom of feeling secured having our cars unlocked, or ladies putting handbags or mobiles on the table while sipping coffee and walking alone with no one ogling or trying to molest or whatsoever.

The difference living in a country where there aren't many of those troublemakers 'foreigners' and living in a country where the government just simply welcome every tom, dick and harry from all nations to become the workforce indeed has it bad side. More than the good ones.

I'm not saying that all foreigners are bad and troublemakers, and the locals are good people, but Malaysian has its fair share of troublemakers from within too. From Chinese gangsters during those 80s and later Indian gangsters in the late 90s because the Chinese converted themselves to becoming millionaire entrepreneurs selling DVDs besides other big time international smuggling stuff, the Indians took over.

Now, don't get me wrong. I am not a racist.
I love other races too, in fact my whole young adulthood lives had been revolving around the Chinese. And I feel more at ease with them than my own race.
I am not saying that the Malays are all holy bunch. They do generate some well-known gangsters but most of them are ' gangster kampung' (translate: small time gangster) such as small break-ins and its likes. Latest, not latest actually ; is hell riders; term I use for two people riding a motobike or locally they call it kapchai (translate; cheap scooter), these men, mostly jobless I'd like to think, will do a stunt-show of pulling and grabbing handbags and sometime pushed their victim to death in the fight for the handbags -- which I also think it's silly for the victim to fight because life is more precious than mere Ringgit or valuables in the handbag.

Besides that the Malays ( so far no other races reported yet) are fond rapist, child rapist, sodomisers and the likes.

Okay, lets not divert again, so basically what I m trying to jot down here is my huge feeling of insecurity, a bit of resentment for that new feeling of being scared -- i hate feeling scared. The annoying feeling of insecurity in me while walking, driving home (two category - 1. most daytime; road bullies, because I'm a fighter so I encounter more of them than my sublimed-same-gender, 2. most night time; when reaching home while waiting for the auto-gate to open or close my eyes would be on the rear-view, thus no buggers will slip in and all sort of other things.

My parents place had been 'visited' but limited to the outside for few times alrready although there are police patrolling at night and guards at the housing area entrance.

I told them that I seriously think it is good to own a piece of revolver for our safety living in Malaysia now...ha ha ha!

Debate over whether child rapists should be hanged.

KUALA LUMPUR: The suggestion that convicted child rapists be sent to the gallows has sparked an active debate as yet another case of sexual abuse of a child emerged yesterday.
There was mixed response from both sides of the political divide on the suggestion, with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil saying that capital punishment alone was not sufficient deterrent for child rapists.

While she supported the death penalty for child rapists, she said it was more important to focus on the social and moral environment which produced such criminals.

“We need to refine our community values and prepare measures to protect the vulnerable in society, especially children.” Shahrizat said a thorough study was required to ascertain the effectiveness of the death penalty as a deterrent. She said the issue was complicated by the fact that the majority of child rape cases were committed by family members, fathers, uncles and brothers.

“In such cases, victims might discouraged from reporting instances violence, particularly if they know they be responsible for the death of member.” She said the imposition of the penalty might even worsen the situation as a rapist might be more inclined to kill his victim.

Shahrizat said an alternative would be a lengthy jail sentence for child rapists.

Sarawak Women and Family Council chairman Datin Fatimah Abdullah said the death penalty would be a powerful deterrent against “heinous crimes”. But she echoed Shahrizat’s sentiments in saying more should be done to counter the problem.

“The death penalty will not make up for the intense trauma suffered by rape victims,” said Fatimah, who is also minister in the Chief Minister’s Office.

The maximum jail sentence for rape under the Penal Code was extended from 20 to 30 years in 2007.

The call for capital punishment was made by DAP chairman Karpal Singh who called for an amendment to Section 376 of the Penal Code on rape to include the death penalty as the mandatory sentence for child rapists.

Ironically, two of his detractors on the issue were from his own party.

Bukit Mertajam DAP member of parliament Chong Eng said the death penalty would not change the situation as rape was difficult to prove while Beruas DAP MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said the death penalty should be reserved for the most violent crimes.

Chong Eng cited a study by the Penang-based non-governmental organisation, Women’s Centre for Change, which revealed that only four per cent of reported rape cases were successfully prosecuted with the rest dismissed due to lack of evidence.

The Wanita DAP chief said prevention was the key to the issue of child rape, adding that parents and school authorities should discuss matters relating to sex openly with children.

“Many children are unaware of what kinds of behaviour or touching of body parts are inappropriate, leading to many cases being underreported.”

She said there was a need to speed up court processes as lengthy prosecutions discouraged many victims from speaking up about their ordeal.

“These cases should be prioritised as they involve children, who may not be emotionally developed enough to handle long trials,” she said, adding that child victims of rape should be provided counselling.

Ngeh said the death penalty should only be meted out if the rapist was also guilty of committing extreme violence.

The Perak DAP chairman said child rapists should also receive psychiatric treatment to control their psychological and physical urges.

Malaysians express their anger over rape incident

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians have expressed outrage over the rape of a 10-year-old girl while she was being driven to school, with many demanding that the culprit be severely punished for his crime.

Describing the 51-year-old suspect as a “monster” and an “animal,” they are demanding that the Attorney-General seek the capital punishment. They pointed out that “a leopard never changes its spots.”

Some parents have also urged the community to be responsible for children’s safety.

Other developments:

THE suspect, who was brought before a magistrate’s court here yesterday, has been remanded until Wednesday. Police are investigating if an 11-year-old girl and his adopted daughter, nine, had also been molested;

THE Women, Family and Community Development Minister has called for a policy to ensure that van and bus drivers are accompanied by either a conductor or co-driver; and

SCHOOL authorities have been told to remind pupils to be cautious.

Another effort which I think would generate consciousness is to conduct wide-spread photo publishing or some criminal sketch via all media for others to be aware of.

I mean, my first encounter with beast such as this was since as young as fifteen years of age because the school that I go to, is an all-girl school in Petaling Jaya. The area was a lush preserved green of Gasing Hill or Bukit Gasing. Thus, it was quiet which invites lots of crazy-jerking mid-life men finding ways and mean showing their prick to us in order to get some sort of satisfaction.

For those who are brave-hearts and thank God I am one of them, we'd chase and scream or throw things to shoo those beast away, but for those small fragile-soul -- they'll be scared to death with any such encounter.

Of course the school will advice us students to never walk home alone, or walk out of the school compound in group if we're going somewhere where besides making sure both gates are chained during school hours, but that's about it.

What else can the teachers do right?

BERNAMA - Japanese Women's Life Expectancy World's Longest For 25th Year In Row

TOKYO, July 26 (Bernama) -- Japanese women had the longest life expectancy in the world for the 25th straight year in 2009, with an average life span of 86.44 years, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported, citing health ministry report Monday.

Japanese men, along with their female compatriots, saw their average life expectancy register a record high for the fourth consecutive year at 79.59 years, but they fell to fifth in the world from fourth in 2008, according to the report.

The latest data showed that average life spans increased from 2008 by 0.39 year for Japanese women and 0.30 year for Japanese men.

The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry attributed the extension of life spans to improved treatment of the three major causes of death among Japanese -- cancer, cardiac disorders and strokes -- as well as pneumonia.

"If an influenza epidemic does not break out, the life expectancy (of Japanese people) is likely to extend further," a ministry official said.

In the women's list, Hong Kong came second at 86.1 years, followed by France at 84.5 years. Qatar topped the men's list at 81.0 years, followed by Hong Kong at 79.8 years, and Iceland and Switzerland at 79.7 years.

Muslims should not wear ManUtd jerseys.

KUALA LUMPUR: Muslims must not wear the famous Manchester United red jersey because of the “devil” emblem on its team crest, Malaysian clerics said today.
Manchester United and the rest of the English Premier League are massively popular in Muslim-majority Malaysia and the rest of the Asian region, but conservative religious scholars said the jersey is un-Islamic.

Also off limits are the shirts of teams including Brazil, Portugal, Barcelona, Serbia and Norway, all of which carry images of the cross on their team emblems.

“This is very dangerous. As a Muslim, we should not worship the symbols of other religions or the devils,” Nooh Gadot, a top Islamic cleric from the southern Johor state, told AFP.

“It will erode our belief in Islam. There is no reason why we as Muslims should wear such jerseys, either for sports or fashion reasons,” said Nooh, an advisor to the Johor religious council.

“Even if it (the jersey) is a gift, we should decline it. It is even more sinful when people realise this is wrong and still buy these jerseys to wear,” he added.

Nooh said there was no “fatwa”, or religious edict, against the shirts but that one was not needed when it was clearly wrong for Muslims to don such a garment.

“These Muslims should repent, repent immediately,” he said.

Another leading cleric, Harussani Zakaria, a cleric from northern Perak state, agreed that devils should be shunned, not celebrated.

“Yes of course in Islam we don’t allow people to wear this sort of thing,” he told AFP. “Devils are our enemies, why would you put their picture on you and wear it? You are only promoting the devil.”

Malaysia is a generally moderate Islamic country, but conservative clerics have issued controversial edicts in the past including a ban on the ancient practice of yoga, which is criticised for including Hindu religious elements. -AFP

Now, the thing that they must understand is, these football supporters are not idolising or worshipping other religions what more any symbols deem un-Islamic.

What actually wrong here is; when some clerics trying to be famous coming out with such statement, I'd like to think perhaps to get some footing or cheap coverage in their 'industry'.

It is mere sporting my religious and pious friends.
If any of you think that it is un-religious and un -Islamic, then what about supporting your Malaysia football team -- those near death team. The teams which will never smell the World Cup stadium in the next 15 years or more.

And just how many Muslims had they (the clerics) encounter shunning the religion to be a an atheist, or Christians after wearing the jersey?...or in this case worshipping the team Manchester United?.....
I had read most of the cases of Malaysian Muslims shunning and chucking Islam to be either Christians, Hindu or others because of money (the Christians provided shelters for homeless, or money to poor university students), love (Hindus - i know two of them) and some other reasons. But, lets go right to the root cause of all these -- it's what God's will unto them as well.

Funny thing is, the religious people in Malaysia or the clerics, seems to think that it so so very easy for the Muslims to be convinced or to be influenced by such petty thing. Such thing that somehow could on the other hand lead the Muslims to be a mockery among those non-Muslims.
Already Islam has been the champion of terrorism in the eye of the westerners, in Malaysia, the Muslims are being pictured as very fragile people that need to be taken care of in every aspects of their living -- INCLUDING logo to be worn on their shirt.

I remember an incident where a documentary about the Dalai were banned many years ago from being aired on Malaysian television commemorating the Wesak Day reason being; it might shaken the aqidah of the Muslim majority.

If so, why not the government of Malaysia ban the public holiday in some state in Malaysia for Wesak Day because it might make more Muslims turning to be a Buddhists and it might post a danger towards the Muslims aqidah in general.....

Not being judgemental or opinionated, I feel the society of this country will somehow be like those of long-developed nation such as the American or European – a society where people isolate themselves, or being isolated, the advancement that lead to being individualistic, the lack of participation activities that involves others than immediate family circle and so on and so-forth.
My term of immediate family circle here only limited to parents and the siblings.

As the Minister herself stated, the lack of social monitoring is one of the reasons for these youth current worrying lifestyle, but bottom line still zoom back to the individual family itself.
The institution developed by the 'maker' i.e. the father and the mother.
How strong the foundation on each family were to admittedly or not were laid by the them, in terms of respects of one another, empathy, and knowledge besides the core of any good human, religious input.

There is no benchmark on how parents should be bringing up the children or develop their own family.
But there would always be a mark to categorised one successful family from the other.
Some might look on the well to do highly educated children, obedient and filial children which would bring joy to the parents and some other factors.

A successful family institution for me on the hand would mean unity and staying together through out nay turbulences and and no matter what type of challenges coming to toppled the family, all will be fought without prejudice and selfishness.

Eventough, I have yet to come to the stage where my children are even school-going kids, I feel there are lots of other factor that leads to these troubled youths to believing that they are being isolated by their parents, thus making them flock together in some ruined place which later will somehow make them those troublesome annoying street people.

Peer pressures besides the lack of communication between a child and the parents, busy modern working mothers, lack of traditional sentiments (although petty but it helps in developing children respect towards elders), and financial; the lack of abundance of it.

The rest, our pray to God in hope of better living for us the the offsprings.

Happiness -- from a different perspective.

There are many meaning to the word happiness.
And many ways of achieving it too, according to some. Which I agree to a certain magnitude.
As many ways of feeling and explaining it, I somehow feel happiness is something that is hard to stay on for a longer period of time, although it is quite esy to come by.

Maybe it is just some people's luck.
But I notice those who have prolonged happiness in them are mostly those who isolate themselves from many things and people in life.
Perhaps, that is why they actually found it.

Most people clung to othersfor happiness. They depend on their friends, family members,parents or spouse. They're dependent to other people's existence.
Their need of safety net in order to avoid falling on the hard ground is quite evident.

But some people just doesn't have the luck with other people and no safety net at all.
Thus they have got to be independently trying to crawl out of that stinking hole of manipulations.

One reason why those who are emotionally independent managed to crawl out, although sometimes being dragged down again, was they chose to talk less. Say less.
Not manifesting their feel in order to keep peace on the front.
In order to not stirred up some situation which could lead to greater isolation.

But through-out two decades of watching and experiencing, and trying to comprehend some of those oppressors actions, i came out with below prognosis on how they managed to stay untouched yet believe it is happiness meant to them ;

1. showering people with money in order to buy their attention and love.

2. incite hatred among family members so they could control certain people in the family, namely the parents.
3. to pretend and behave the dying-swan action when they created humongous sin in life in order not to be blame.

4. to constantly cultivating hatred towards selected few, and those believers will eventually isolate the suppressed party.

And again, they will win in the end.
How life is unfair....sometimes.
And when come time the suppressed speak their mind, the whole picture will be blown out of proportion.
And without given the space and time for explanation, the suppressed will continue to be oppressed.

Maybe...., maybe those hatred-inciter are too overwhelmed by the achievements that God lend them. Achievements they gathered by stepping, manipulating and constant backstabbing without remorse.

And maybe, they have yet to come to themselves....or they actually befriended the syaiton in disguise? Maybe.

They who do not know themselves, do not know God.
They who do not know God, will do everything including all against God in order to achieve their goals in life eventually getting endless supports.

As written in the Al-Quran : "He who knows himself knows God," and "We will show them Our signs in the world and in themselves, that the truth may be manifest to them."

I have learnt the hard way and accepted internal suppression in my life.
It has been the pillar of my strong-will character no doubt. It is the reasons of my little exposure in life in comparison.
Getting to know other things and live life as jolly as I can be.
But being suppressed for long?...I don't think so. Not anymore.

It is time for a hijrah.

Positive Energy of Pyramids Used to Curb Traffic Accidents in India

They have been credited with supernatural or paranormal properties since the days of ancient Egypt. Now the putative power of pyramids is to be harnessed by Indian police to cut road accidents.

Traffic officers in Nagpur, 540 miles (870 kilometres) west of Mumbai, have agreed to allow small pyramids to be placed at 10 accident-prone sites in the city to see if their claimed positive energy can reduce crashes.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sahebrao Patil said the road safety initiative came about after a meeting with an expert in Vastu, an ancient Hindu system of construction which is similar to Chinese Feng Shui.

"He told me that he had placed a number of pyramids on roads outside the city and the results were excellent. The number of accidents reduced. He wanted to do it in the city, so I said, ’OK, no problem’," Patil told AFP.

"He’s going to be installing them in 10 spots. They won’t be on the road directly but at the corner of chowks (squares) or near traffic signals so they won’t obstruct traffic."

Vastu expert Sushil Fatehpuria, who offered his services free of charge, said that each 30 centimetre (one foot) tall pyramid will have a copper bottom and five smaller pyramids inside.

"I think the accidents are caused by negative energies. So we need to minimise or convert the negative energy into positive ones," he said.

"I will energise the pyramids. I will transfer my positive thoughts into the pyramids."

Patil said his officers’ own, more human, efforts to cut the number of road accidents would continue during the experiment.

"We will see in six months. If it gets positive results then that’s excellent," he added.

A combination of an increase in drivers, many of them untrained, poor road planning and lax law enforcement have made India’s roads the most dangerous in the world.

Kids on the streets: Where are their parents?

...Several hundred teenagers are living in abandoned buildings in Kuala
Lumpur. They roam the streets, robbing and prostituting themselves to survive.
One couple even made a sex tape for sale. Shockingly, the parents of some of
these kids know what they are doing.

THEY are unwanted, neglected and shunned by their parents and society.

These teenagers, aged between 14 and 18 and numbering several hundred,
live on the streets, exposing themselves to the underground activities thriving
in the hidden parts of this city. ....

Talk about young pregnancies and social ills lurking into the young people now.
I honestly, are constantly be feeling loathful and annoyed reading facebook statements on how my 14 years old nephew's shout of love and whatever towards his girlfriend.

I mean. What the heck....
Agree, as I was told by a friend (who came from a co-ed school, whereby me since primary till secondary in all-girls school) that during those days, there had already been incident that primary two child sending love letter to his girlfriend, but my guess is, those time the teachers took serious note on the action thus made school-going kids more disciplined.
But, in this case, where their own teacher is on their friend's list of the social platform, and in a way encouraging young loves to be developed since school-going, what the heck is that leading to?

Yes, I was once at that age too.
No doubt, it is healthy, in a way. But not in the other.
It's healthy to know that the child develop these feeling towards the right sex, and not the same sex...mind you, the cultivation of same sex love and affection i.e gays and lesbians, are rooted as young as primary age.

But what about not stopping and yet not encouraging them?
Are they to be left to decide what's good themselves?
With the development of internet social platforms, with the borderless internet search of anything and everything at all, unless you're living here in Qatar where those sites are blocked by the internet provider, I am really going to face great challenges bringing up my daughter.

Kids and youths in this generations are not shy letting know their feeling.
Which is good, but again, when it is too much especially when it comes to expressing love 'love' towards another person at such a tender age without feeling shy....well, nothing else that I can say except to admit that I am a traditional mother.
Like my SO said, I can be the best aunty and mom any child would want, yet a pest when it comes to that word LOVE.

To me kids are not supposed to talk about loving somebody else except family member not until they are seventeen.
And if anyone of my family member has that, then I strongly suggest that those feeling be to kept deep inside them or chuck it far away until they bring the scroll home, besides in-putting the pro and cons of such action.

Then again, what can any one say when thru own experience, a mother of a 15 years old girl literally asked the daughter and her boyfriend to go upstairs, and a 13 year-old girl's mother suggested that children should be allowed to roam the mall and towns on weekend with their friends or boyfriends / girlfriends to 'loosen-up' and de-stress?

I must be living in my mother's era then.

While in many Western countries, a television talent show is organised to select a star, Malaysia is hiring the next “star imam” through a talent search show, as many German and Swiss dailies have been reporting.

Details of the “Imam Muda” show have been widely reported by a number of dailies - from the Tagesspiegel, Merkur Online through n-tv.de, Bild.de, Sueddeutsche Zeitung to the Swiss daily Tagesanzeiger - and have kept the readers engrossed, as comments from readers to the news report suggest.

The “Imam Muda” talent show reported about eight young men who appeared on Malaysian television at prime time, attired in suits and the traditional caps.

Switzerland’s “Tagesanzeiger”, for example, describes the candidates as “superstars” on Malaysian television and reports that they seem to have become heart throbs of many young girls.

Unlike in other reality shows, where participants usually sing or dance, the candidates in the “Imam Muda” show recite verses from the Quran, have the necessary training in washing dead bodies for Islamic burial, and pledge to protect young Malaysians from sex and drugs.

The talent show casts young Islamic clerics, the paper goes on.

The weekly talent show is headed by Hasan Mahmud, a former imam himself. He is creating a pool of exemplary young imams and using their help to combat the “social and moral decadence”.

The candidates, aged between 18 and 27, are selected according to personality criteria and their knowledge of religion. As in “American Idol” and other talent shows, candidates are phased out each week after they failed to qualify.

Many viewers and readers were surprised to know that for the duration of the show, the candidates are isolated and kept in the sleeping hall of a mosque - without any mobile phones, Internet, television and other modern gadgets - so that they “think for themselves” and do not have to rely on any outside help or prompting.“

The winner of the contest can expect a pilgrimage to Mecca, financial assistance in pursuing studies at the Islamic university of Medina, and employment in a mosque,” says a commentator in the German daily Tagesspiegel which is published from Berlin.

"What's the point of having another extremist body? We want to get rid of Perkasa,” he said.

Indeed there are some good intentions behind the entity set-up with its agenda to safeguard the sovereignty of the institution of rulers, Malay and bumiputera rights and the sanctity of Islam as the country’s official religion...but they should expect that this moves would be politicised by the other two race, who had been making very clear of their needs and wants past ten years.

Umno Ready To Meet PAS On Forging Cooperation, Says Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Umno was prepared to officially or unofficially discuss with PAS on forging cooperation between the two political parties for the sake of Malay unity, as suggested by some quarters.

In welcoming the proposal, the deputy prime minister said the effort to establish cooperation between the two Malay Muslim-based political parties was not new as the matter had been voiced out before but the idea did not materialise.

"The question of unity among Malays is not something that is not good, what more in a situation now which calls for more concrete cooperation on such issues as the economy, culture and institution of rulers, besides building unity for the good of the ummah (community) and country," he said after opening the Asean Schools Games, here Tuesday.

Muhyiddin who is also Umno deputy president, said it was up to PAS leaders whether to cooperate with Umno or not.

On Monday, a Special Affairs Department think tank member Lokman Nor Adam was quoted as saying that the desire to make Malaysia a country that practised Islamic policies could be achieved if there was unity between PAS and Umno.

Asked about the fear among some quarters if there was PAS-Umno cooperation, Muhyiddin said they should not worry as the government looked after the interests of all races.

"The non-Muslim communities should not feel threatened by it as all this while, Muslim unity has helped ensure security and stability in this country. There has been no problem."

Muhyiddin also said that the government had no problem with groups wanting to form associations as long as it was in the interests of the people and nation, and not with a devious intention.

"Anyone can establish (an association)...whether it's a Chinese, Malay or Indian Perkasa," he said, referring to MCA vice-president Datuk Donald Lim's recent suggestion for a Chinese Perkasa be formed.

Hopefully the government of Malaysia in particular the ministry concerned will start looking on the social development rather then letting the NGOs probing and reporting on it. Don’t do that: Play with your placenta.

Okay people, listen up: this isn’t about placenta hating. As far as organs that develop on the fly to feed and protect a growing fetus, the placenta is tops in our book. We get that it’s a veiny wonder of nutrient delivery. We appreciate the awe that inspires to humans to celebrate its role in the miracle of life. We even understand how a burial ritual feels like an honorable sendoff for such a generous body part. But turning it into a painting, a meal or a toy? Ew to the power of ew.

While eating the placenta (placentophagy) is honored in at least a few cultures, Salon.com’s recent detailing of one family’s decision to sautee up a “mother cake” with a little garlic and ginger had more than a few of us at Shine shuddering.

Oh yes, we’re clear on the fact that the placenta is a great source of iron, and that Chinese medicine celebrates its ability to ward of everything from exhaustion to postpartum depression, but still…eat an organ that makes its exit through your vagina? What’s next, a time-o-the-month milkshake? Oh, silly us. It’s the “placenta cocktail.” (Really. Check out this recipe if you’d like to never feel good about drinking a V-8 again.)

Last but not least, we absolutely cannot leave out Joel Stein’s foray into placenta ingestion, albeit through pills. That’s right, there’s actually a person in this world who will come to your house, dry up your placenta and turn it into capsules. That definitely sounds more appealing than a cocktail, or at least until you watch the video below.

We all know about them using placenta in cosmetics and all, and some (which I heard off, not knowing the whole fact of it though) having pop pills out of lamb placenta in order to preserved their youth and vitality but eating it?

I mean Why on earth do they have to eat that thing that came out of some women's vagina or had been in someone stomach for nine months?Don't they have any other things to eat in order to gain health effect whatsoever?

Put it this way, I am a person who find eating goats or cow's brain repelling, eating the head of this animal disgusting....eating someone's placenta?
