Large number of Chinese at homes

Chinese make up a huge number of old folk abandoned at welfare homes.

Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka
Chew Mei Fun said 33% of the residents in government-run old folk homes were
Chinese......

It's a pity to read about the increasing number of unfilial son or daughters among this race.

Imagine those parents old and sickly and who do not have the means of supporting themselves being dumped at old folks home and sometimes not even visited by the children they gave birth to and taken care of when young and small. I would suggest Malaysia should follow the neighbouring country's legal right for the abandon parents to sue their children for upkeep under the Maintenance of Parents Act.

But would the saying you reap what you sow applicable in this issue?
Or perhaps money can buy freedom and respect?
