Prove that politicians are stupid.

Jalan Barat not to be renamed after trade unionist.

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor government has put off plans to rename Jalan Barat after unionist V. David on Labour Day.

Announcing this on Saturday, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said this was due to the state government's decision to revamp the roads in the city.

“Jalan Barat will be changed, so renaming it will only be temporary. The roads will be realigned, so we are looking at other roads around the area to be renamed,” Khalid said after launching the state Labour Day celebrations at the Petaling Jaya Civic Centre today.

David was a founding member and secretary of Selangor Factories Association in 1953.

He served as MTUC general-secretary from 1976 to 1992, and was Transport Workers Union secretary-general from 1958 to 1995.

David died on July 19, 2005, at the age of 72.

Khalid made the announcement that the road would be renamed after David at the MTUC's 60th anniversary celebrations on Dec 31 last year.

On Friday, some 30 residents nearby had gathered iin front of the PJ Hilton Hotel to voice their dissatisfaction over Selangor's decision to rename the road.

However, the gathering only lasted for five minutes after police asked the group to disperse.

Most of the time, Im perplexed at how people such as this Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and other political figures arrived at making very unbrainy statement, and later cancel it with another unbrainy statement and reason.

Seriously, I think this is the result of bad advisors. I suggest he should start looking for some new group with ideas for betterment of the state rather than betterment for their own pocket.
It is worst if the idea came from he himself.
I really think he should consider an early retirement and go get some fresh air which will be good to the brain.
Maintaining the office has proven him as a incapable person, even from the start.

Changing the Jalan Barat, which has long be known and accepted, and of course it's a neutral name; to a name of some 'we-don't -know-who' guy whose contributions only circled around the Selangor Factories Association and served as MTUC gen-sec from 1976 - 1992 is inf-act ridiculous.

Did he made known the country to the world?
Did he fight alongside those people and died because of protecting the country or state during the occupation period ?

What good was he to even be considered?
